Quarterly Sendouts

Hello there, esteemed patrons.

In a departure from – nay, an absolute upheaval of – normal service, this is Chant, one of Grant’s producers at RRD. I’m the one who does things like make sure physical copies of games get mailed out to Grant’s most valued, and indeed most valuable, supporters. Grant’s busy doing genius stuff, so while he’s occupied I need to talk to you about postage.

No, don’t go – this is important, honest.

Sending out the most recent batch of one-pagers took bloody ages. They’ve all gone out now (thank you for your patience). But you do deserve an explanation for why it took so long and why it’s unlikely to happen again.

AMERICAN SHIPPING IS HORRIBLE. We’ve used the same (UK-based) printer to send out your games for the last couple of years (since Grant stopped doing it himself, and honestly this is better for everybody). They’ve always done their best to keep postage prices low, but this year despite their best efforts they had to massively increase the price for sending to the US. You know, where most of you live.

WE’RE USING A US PRINTER NOW. US and Canada orders are, as of February, getting printed in the USA and shipped by the lovely people at Studio 2 Publishing, who do all of Rowan, Rook and Decard’s US postage. Patrons in the UK, Europe and the rest of the world are still getting your games from our friends at Belmont, in charming Northamptonshire.

This makes the process of sending games way more affordable for us and, in future, it’ll be quicker for those of you in North America: you’ll be waiting for mail from Tennessee instead of England.

IT TOOK AGES TO SET UP. The getting of quotes, setting up of processes, and making of new spreadsheets (I love a fresh spreadsheet) meant that this most recent batch took, as previously mentioned, bloody ages.

IT WON’T TAKE AGES NEXT TIME. It all went smoothly this time, so those processes work and should continue to work. So as soon as the back pages for A Very Honey Heist Christmas, Everything is Tables, and my personal favourite Horse Around the House are written, I’ll ship ‘em out to you.

THE NEXT BACK PAGES ARE (PROBABLY) INCREDIBLE. I don’t know what will be on those back pages, but considering the content of the front ones, I can only assume it’s going to be a descent into surrealism that David Lynch would have envied. So stick around, kid, it’s about to get weird.

Thanks again,

Chant
