August NewsLetter

I can’t believe the summer is almost over! Time flies! I hope everyone had a great summer and did a bunch of fun activities! 

The NSFW polls are up! Please vote wisely haha. I hope you have fun with the options. There are a few changes coming. I’m currently making updates to the tiers. I realized that what I offer changed a lot since 2021 so that will be up to date. I’m also drawing some icons for the tiers to make it cuter. My icon and the header will change. The Forever After Era is officially over. They will be updated to HOST characters. RIP Forever After, you will be missed (by me).

As for HOST, I’ll be working on EP 16 next week and will be releasing that in September. I’ve been meeting up with my friends Mya (who works on the Webtoon Inner Daemons) and Wendy (who works on the Webtoon Castle Swimmer) every week and it’s been great! They are fantastic creators and you should check out their comics if you have the time. It’s been very productive to hang out with them because it holds me accountable to actually work on my silly comic. There are times I don’t work on it for weeks at a time, so now I work on it pretty consistently with their good influence. 

In September, I’ll also be working on the Wings of Oil pitch to Webtoon. I know deep in my bones they will reject it ( like all my other projects) but I feel like it’s worth a shot. I really enjoyed the project and I hope that maybe they might be willing to try something new. Just because it wasn’t chosen for the contest, doesn’t mean I can’t annoy them with a pitch email haha. I don’t have much hope because it’s very much a spiritual successor to Atlantis The Lost Empire and that is not a successful film lol. It flopped hard, but it’s the same kind of vibes. Expedition gone wrong with dark magic.

I won’t be spending that much time on this pitch deck compared to the other ones. It’s not worth putting in a ton of time and effort when they are so quick to reject things outright. Luckily, I have a great friend Lennon (they do the Webtoon FarOff, another great comic you should check out) who has been kind enough to help me with edits and work on the story. It’s been really fun to have someone else to bounce ideas off of. If I’m rejected again, I think I’ll start the agent route (which is also full of rejection, but it’s also worth a shot). Webtoon has rejected 3 pitch decks from me so far. After this, I have 1 idea left (a dark mermaid comic) and then I’m tapped out for good. There’s only so many pitches you can send to a company. 

Starting in September, my classes start. I teach as a professor at a university and this semester I’m teaching Character Design class and Comic Class. I’m excited for the new semester. I really enjoyed teaching at the college level and I’m looking forward to building a Comic Course. I’m planning on making it a ton of fun for my students. This means that September-November will be very busy for me, but I’ll be sure to make time for smut. 

Speaking of smut, I’m trying to increase the amount I produce. Whatever is chosen in the polls, will also get some SFW posts on my socials and an animatic. If you check out my social media, I don’t post NSFW teasers outright. It’s usually at the end of a carousel or post. It’s something fun you can look out for. I’ll be trying a lot of fun new fanarts to diversify what I make on Patreon. I think it keeps things fresh and fun! 

Social media update-I joined Tumblr. I fell TF off Tumblr because I had too many socials and Forever After took too much of my time. I haven’t touched the site in 2 years. I’m currently posting my backlog. I don’t know if Tumblr is a thriving community or not, but I want to get into the habit of posting everywhere. I’m Hannahalexandraart there so if you have a tumblr you can find me. I now have Tiktok, Instagram, Twitter, Bluesky, Tumblr, and Patreon. I hope that no more new social medias emerge because that’s all I can handle.
