Anyways, drumroll please....... WE BOUGHT A NEW HOUSE!!
Your incredible support has put me and my family in a position to upgrade from our starter home into what will very likely be the forever home that we raise our family and retire into, and I am so unbelievably grateful for that. However, it also means that I'm about to set up what will likely be the last home office I ever create for Mortius, and that comes with a massive decision.
Do I want to:
1) stick with the green screen, because it's classic, has always been there, and allows for more customization between species
2) create a dedicated IRL background (like Danny Motta or Wee Lass Reacts), which allows for a more professional/consistent look, and lets me highlight cool things like PO box gifts and my play button?
(to be absolutely clear the result of this poll will not guarantee a result one way or another, because this is my forever home and of course me and Mortimiss get final say, but right now I'm really struggling with the pro-con list so if I see a major preference from my most dedicated supporters, that may very likely sway me!)

Whatever you’re comfortable with but I always think it’s fun to see decorations of what people like and what’s important to them
Wild idea: Angle the camera in the new space in such a way that you kinda film in a corner. One wall is regular dedicated office background to show off stuff like the play button and collectibles, and the other is the green screen that can be customized.
You can do both... (im bad with decisions...)
i like the idea of a dedicated office background and also i know of youtubers eg. the click who have the office background but also have a greenscreen they can use for various things
Honestly why not both? Doing greenscreen for reaction, office background for other videos. It's also good for creative juices to have a nice environment to sit in, even if it's not always in view
As much fun as the green screen is, usually a dedicated background allows for more personality on the part of the reactor. That being said, give you usually react in costume, you already have an established look, so it may not be as needed as for others

Seeing a collection grow with the shows a channel watches can be interesting, but I would only recommend it if you are a collector by nature.
I love green screen and the thematic swap for videos, but I also love watching a video with collectables in the back where I can spot them as my favorite folks grow their collection. Honestly, I'll be happy with whatever you decide. Congrats on the house! I am super happy for you and hope yall settle in well. :)
Porque no los dos? hahaha I don't see why they have to be mutually exclusive... Choose a category of content that you keep your irl background for and a category you bring out the green screen for... Very flexible!
I'm gonna vote for what I *THINK* will give you a better set-up when watching scenes with dim-lighting, being the office background. BUT, you should go based on what *YOU* think will give you the better set-up for watching dim-lighting. If that's green screen, go with that.
I love your green screen because it's so fun to see what background you choose, but whatever you end up deciding will of course be perfectly fine. It's all about what your setup needs and what works best! :D
Not sure if this would impact the opinion, but tbh I haven’t chosen my own backgrounds since the Epic the Musicals days, that’s one of many editor duties at this point
Having a decent office space with either a drop-down or pull-up screen is honestly kind of a great use. Could have the green screen AND the lights for it ceiling mounted for minimal setup time for filming but maximum space otherwise.
So as far as the content goes I can go either way, but if this is your forever home I think you should get to have a space to deck out with all the art and merch anf whatever you love and wanna show off.
I say dedicated office background, but you can always leave room for a green screen to be put up if you ever want to go back to it for a video or two! And congratulations!!! I've been following your content for a couple of years now, and I'm SO glad to see you getting so far in life! Love your content, love the new house for you guys!
I like a dedicated background more specifically for the unedited/patreon experience - for the actual final video I have no preference either way. But it's not a huge deal either way so do whatever you prefer!
Green screen is a fun little thing that can still just kind a be a way to stay tethered to the classic reactions, always nice to have a bit of what got us places
Im thinking office background because you can have your show posters up for everyone to see. The ones you direct or have been in! Like Danny has his insane pokeball collection on display, you could have show posters/fan art/plush friends in the background. Emotional Support Gangle could also be close by so you can grab her for more support (even in non-TADC situations).

Congrats on the forever house!!! ...and I vote both! Setting up a dedicated space will be a lot of fun, but hopefully you'll have the space to prop a greenscreen in front of it if you feel the urge to play with something customized for a video!
You could prolly make a home office that allows space for a green screen, so there's nothing saying you can't have a little bit of collum A and collum B

Hear me out on this one. Don't sell the green screen and then you can use it if/when you feel like it. Plus, than you don't have to stress about finishing any current series before you move and the background changes. If it were me, that's something that would stress me out as a creator, even though I don't care as a viewer. But yeah, I think a background is a cool way to show off your personality and the kind of channel you are. Congrats!
That's so exciting! Congrats! I like both ideas. Sticking with the green screen is nice because that's what you've always used and it's fun to see how y'all match the background to whatever you're checking out. On the other hand, it could be fun to have a space you can decorate with merch and collectibles and whatnot.
I love the customizable background! It's more immersive and such a nice touch, specifically because not everybody does it. It's also very nice for my adhd brain, because I find it way less distracting than a dedicated office background with lots of details.
Congratulations on the house!! thats huge!!!! Defo the dedicated office. I think the dedicated space would also be good for being able to adjust ur lighting setup - either to help with seeing when watching darkly lit shows or just to do fun stuff.

I like the green screen. Its unique. I don't see channels utilize often. With the office looks, i drift to the background to see whats on shelves. Like Danny's pokeballs 👀 I'm not sorry but they are eye catching to my neurodivergent brain. And you're like the only channel I actively pay attention to for physical reactions, i have to listen to everyone else, with my phone down.

I personally think decorated backgrounds add a lot of personality to YouTube videos, compared to green screens! But that’s my opinion 🫶🏻 go with what you prefer! EDIT: others have made the excellent point that you could still get a free standing green screen to use for fun sometimes! I’ve seen others do this and it looks fun
Congratulations! So cool that you have a forever home. I’m fully biased towards a dedicated office Background just cuz I’ve grown up with creators having their PO Box/Conventions gifts in the background.
I love the green screen since it allows for a fun new background every video…but genuinely, I think whatever makes you happy is what you should go with.
I love the look of a dedicated space, and that comes with the benefit of still being able to throw up a greenscreen whenever it feels right for certain videos
What species are you planning on switching to?
As much as I love the green screen, I think that moving to a dedicated office background would be really nice. It feels a little more personal, and it’s hopefully one less editing/backend headache cut out

Secret third option: keep the green screen, but create a digital neutral background for your intros (while changing background to keep them thematic with whatever you’re reacting to).

I mean, the nice thing about setting up a dedicated office background is that there will probably still be room for a green screen to be set up in front of it if you get one that is free standing. So, options 🤣🤣
