20:20 the hindsight of knowing where he goes and what happens following that! Dang...
Quite nuanced. One single oil company taking a one day break could pay for 100 YEARS worth of video, image, audio, and text-based generative AI, so a claim of "environmental destruction" is a bit overblown. Also, you're inevitably arguing that the human brain is theft too, since you're a product of your environment, inspired by every copyrighted work you've seen. *head-shake* Whoops, I went a little Jax there for a second.
1:05:37 oh dang didnt think you'd hit the nail on it's head this hard haha XD Also loving your jax hate, its always so funny to me how much ppl hate him from day 1.. he is indeed an asshat, deserves some whoopin. Love him for it tho, ep 6 truly hammered that in for me (ep 3 and kinger are still my favs tho)
right???? like “oh dang he really just pulled a Casper”
The AI rant is 100% valid and thank you for actually understanding it's nuanced. Saying AI in creative spaces is bad is not the same as saying all AI is bad.
I am SO hyped you're reacting to this(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ thank you so much for this seriess
Jax's VA actually only voiced Angel Dust in the Pilot. After that the role was taken on by Blake Roman for the rest of the show.
The more reactions I watch, the more I think I’m the weird one for Jax being my immediate favorite character 😅
Nah you're nott, he was my immediate second fav so i get where you're coming from (like, the only reason he isnt my fav is for kinger..)
the best bit is that bubble is voiced by gooseworks aka the creator of the show
Sitting shotgun with you on the hating jax train. There's dozens of us, dozens!
There's a lot of influence from the 1977 Ragedy Ann and Andy movie, have you ever seen it, I grew up with it shared by my older sister
I endorse your jax hate, not because I hate him I just love supporting (so far) justified vitriol :) /lh
OH MY GODDDD I subscribed to Patreon at the perfect time no way
By AI assistant tools what do you mean? A lot of AI assistant tools that I know of use genAI to function
To be fair, so does every fucking search engine now which is infuriating
This isn't really spoilers since it's not important, but you nailed it regarding the company name!
yippeeeee
The teapot is a nod to one of the first ever 3D models, you can see that asset used a lot in Pixar its a very common Easter Egg in animation. There's a lot of little references like that throughout the series.
You Nat20ing Gummygoo's fate at the end made me laugh SO HARD😭🤣
I KNOW RIGHT
YOOOOO this is so exciting I wasn't expecting it! I already can't wait to see your reaction to episodes 5 and 6 that's when things get really juicy!
Well nevermind then, if you are gonna refuse to engage with one of the key elements of the show then this reaction isn't gonna be fun at all. I forgot how you are with villains , antagonists and such. I noticed with Black Friday that you can't seem to let yourself enjoy a good old fashioned antagonist character. I really don't get this approach. While you are kinda onto something with how some people can be about him, you are still swinging too much the other side. We can just be normal about him, not too crazy about him but also not refusing to even engage with his character because he is mean... I hope you'll change your mind wether through this reply or just organically because otherwise this isn't gonna be fun for anyone I don't think... I already sat through something like this I'd rather not do it again
Song at the end of the first episode sounds like Moon River, btw, from Breakfast at Tiffany’s. If it’s not intentional it’s very, very similar 🤣
The game show comment Kinger makes to Zooble in episode 1 is a reference to one of Gooseworx’s older (and best imo) stand alone animations, called Little Runmo. Highly recommend giving it a watch! If not as an analysis (super interesting to analyze), then just for fun and to show her some support for her skills!
Fun fact: A big inspiration for this series is I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream, a short story about a group of people who are taken hostage by an artificial intelligence and tortured both physically and psychologically. As you go through the series you’ll slowly see more parallels between these characters and the ones in the short story.
Oh my god, that makes so much sense! I knew something about this series felt familiar when I first watched it! Thank you for pointing that out!
ohhh heck yeah!
YES. YES YES YES YES ONE OF MY COMFORT SHOWS THE LAST FEW WEEKS
omg, wasn't expecting this at all! Be curious to see what you make of it all!
