The game world he had always dreamed of. Was it heaven... Or hell...

In the final days of the Third World War, Ameno Gensaki, a mentally troubled soldier, was hopelessly addicted to 【CARD＆MAGIC ACADEMIA】 or shortened as CMA, a Pocket Boy game released in 1999

Unable to endure the hellish reality around him, he spent his days suppressing his madness by immersing himself in CMA.

Then, one day, Gensaki's life came to an abrupt end when a nuclear warhead detonated right above his head.

The man who continued playing CMA until the very brink of death was swallowed by the explosion, convinced that he was bound for hell...

Yet when he opened his eyes, he found himself reincarnated as the protagonist of CMA.

A world of cards and the miracles wrought by Lead Devices, which read and activate them. A world of Card Magic.

Gensaki enrols as the protagonist at Ragnarok Academy, an institution that trains Magi-Sigil Knights, warriors who wield Card Magic in battle.

With his slightly unhinged enthusiasm, Gensaki sets out to follow the story's events and pursue a safe, reliable strategy by making use of his knowledge of the game and its heroines, the angels.

However, an incident he causes only seconds after his reincarnation sends the story spiralling off course right from the very beginning. His game knowledge proves frustratingly unhelpful at all the wrong moments, and after a series of spectacular blunders, he ends up being disliked by the heroine.

Dejected, Gensaki finds himself seated next to a background character girl who was not the heroine, yet possesses an angelic beauty that rivals, even surpasses the heroines――

For some reason, the girl takes a liking to him, and little by little, Gensaki finds himself drawn to her. Then, one day, he finally realises the truth.

「She was my angel in this world all along!」
