Chapter 147: A Grand Return to the Mountain! Palace-Master-Level Prestige

TL : Cnine

Part 1

“Third Senior Brother! Fourth Senior Sister, what are you doing here?” Xiao Yifeng and Su Miaoqing exclaimed in surprise.

The two figures who had just descended from the sky were none other than their Third Senior Brother Gong Tianyu and Fourth Senior Sister Ju Youshan, who had clearly rushed here in great haste.  The moment Ju Youshan saw that both Xiao Yifeng and Su Miaoqing were safe and sound, she let out a long breath of relief.  “Thank the heavens you’re both alright,” she said. “If you two still hadn’t returned to the mountain soon, the Nine Grandmasters of the Heaven Inquiry Sect would have set out together to search for you.”

Xiao Yifeng and Su Miaoqing exchanged bewildered looks.  Neither of them understood how the two of them could possibly be important enough to warrant the Nine Grandmasters of the Heaven Inquiry Sect personally leaving the mountain.

“I’ll send a transmission to the other junior brothers and sisters so they can come meet us here,” Gong Tianyu said. “I’ll also send word back to the mountain to inform Master and Madam.”

Ju Youshan nodded before grabbing Su Miaoqing by the arm.  “Qing’er, Xiao Feng, where have you two been running off to? Do you realise how worried Master and Madam have been? Stop wandering about and come back to the mountain with us. If we delay any longer, Boundless Horizon Palace is going to fall into chaos.”

Judging by the gravity of the situation, Xiao Yifeng and his companion dared not linger. They quickly said their farewells to Yuge and the others before mounting their flying swords and streaking skyward after the departing group.

Only Yuge remained behind, standing quietly where she was, gazing into the distance in a daze. Beside her, the Qi Wang wore a rather bitter, helpless expression.

Six days later, before the towering mountain gate of the Heaven Inquiry Sect.

From afar, a gigantic flying vessel approached. The craft was covered with all kinds of flowers, looking rather like an enormous flower basket.

The flying vessel stopped in front of the sect’s gate. A group of people stepped down from the flying craft. After putting the vessel away, they slowly walked toward the mountain gate of the Heaven Inquiry Sect.

At the front were two women, followed by more than a dozen disciples.  One of the women appeared to be a beautiful lady in her thirties. She wore a green palace dress, looking gentle and charming, dignified and graceful, the sort of person who immediately gave others a comfortable impression.

Beside her stood a woman dressed in a pink palace robe who appeared to be around twenty years old. Her face was covered by a veil, making it impossible to see her appearance clearly.

The skin visible beneath the veil was pale and pure like the bright moon. Her eyes were black like lacquer, clear like autumn water, dazzling and brilliant. With just a single glance, anyone who looked at her could easily become lost within them. It was evident that she too was an exceptionally beautiful woman.

“May I ask which sect these fellow daoists come from to visit our Heaven Inquiry Sect? Have you come for our sect’s True Martial Ranking?” The disciple guarding the mountain gate stood stunned for quite some time before hurriedly stepping forward to greet them.

“I am Lin Shuxue of the Luoshu Manor, here with my disciples to attend the ceremony. This is our invitation.” The beautiful woman at the front handed over the invitation in her hand, while the other disciples of Luoshu Manor curiously looked around at their surroundings.

“So it is Senior Lin of Luoshu Manor, along with fellow daoists. Forgive us for failing to welcome you from afar. Allow me to guide our honoured guests inside.” After checking the invitation and confirming it was genuine, the gatekeeping disciple spoke respectfully.

Just then, another tearing sound rang through the air. In the distance, a massive flying vessel shaped like a giant sword came speeding over. Many men and women stood upon it, and it slowly descended in front of the mountain gate.

“I did not expect Fairy Lin to arrive so early as well. What a coincidence.”

From the giant sword-like flying vessel, a middle-aged man jumped down. He wore a yellow daoist robe and had a rather dignified appearance. Behind him stood many men and women, who slowly descended from the flying sword as well.

“So it is Fellow Daoist Zhu from the Willow River Sword sect. This humble one greets you.” Lin Shuxue smiled at the middle-aged man who stood at the front.

The True Martial Ranking of the Heaven Inquiry Sect was a grand event held once every ten years. It naturally attracted many guests who came to observe the ceremony, and over time this gradually became a custom. For visiting guests, the Heaven Inquiry Sect naturally welcomed all who came.

On one hand, it served to display the strength of their sect’s disciples. On the other, it allowed disciples of different sects to interact and exchange knowledge.

The people of Luoshu Manor and the Willow River Sword sect exchanged polite greetings at the mountain gate and were just about to enter when another sound of something cutting through the air echoed from the sky. Both groups turned their heads and looked toward the horizon.

“I wonder which fellow daoist has arrived this time? It seems quite lively today!” the Daoist surnamed Zhu from the Willow River Sword sect said with a smile.

The incoming flying vessel was extremely enormous. Four disciples in the Golden Core Realm flew ahead to scout the way, while several more Golden Core disciples circled the ship vigilantly.

The divine senses that Lin Shuxue and the other person sent out to investigate were forced back by a cold snort from a powerful divine sense on the ship. The two immediately sensed several extremely powerful auras above, and their expressions changed slightly.

There were actually several experts of the Void Insight Realm and the Void Refinement Realm guarding this massive vessel, and dozens of experts above the Nascent Soul Realm aboard the ship.

At this moment, disciple after disciple stood on the deck holding their magic swords, watching the surroundings in full alert.

Six white-haired elderly men sat cross-legged around the ship, keeping watch in every direction while openly releasing their powerful auras.

Six Void Insight Realm guards!

Such an extravagant lineup startled both groups standing before the gate. Was this meant to be a raid on the Heaven Inquiry Sect?

Just as they were wondering which powerful force could possibly arrive with such pomp, a breathtaking girl in a red dress ran out from the ship’s cabin and stepped onto the prow, looking toward the mountain gate of the Heaven Inquiry Sect.

She smiled happily.  “Finally back at the Heaven Inquiry Sect! I haven’t been back for so long that I’m actually starting to miss your parents. I wonder how Xiao Bai has been lately?”

“Yes, Senior Sister. Even though we were only away for two years, it somehow feels much longer,” said a handsome man in white as he stepped out beside her, sighing with emotion.

The girl shot him a sideways glance and snorted coldly, ignoring him completely.

“Two little ancestors, please stop running around outside. Quickly go back into the cabin! It’s dangerous out here!” one white-haired old man said with a bitter smile.

“Old Wu, I don’t want to! It’s so boring inside. We’ve already returned to the Heaven Inquiry Sect, so it’s fine!” the beautiful girl in the red dress said unhappily.

“No, no! If the two of you go missing again, it will be a disaster!” Old Wu insisted anxiously.

“Senior Sister, perhaps we should return to the cabin,” Xiao Yifeng said with a faint, awkward smile. “We’re nearly there already. Haven’t you noticed how tense those Martial Uncles and Martial Elders look?”

Su Miaoqing glanced around the deck. Sure enough, several elders at the Void Insight Realm were watching the pair of them like hawks, their auras coiled and ready, as though afraid someone might suddenly appear and steal the two away.

“Senior Sister… Let’s not make things difficult for them.”

Xiao Yifeng continued persuading her. Su Miaoqing had nothing to say, snorted coldly, and stomped back into the cabin in a huff.

The flying ship approached the mountain gate. The disciples guarding the gate were about to step forward to stop it.

Suddenly, a huge token flew out from the ship. Three words were written on it:  Boundless Horizon Palace!

Driven by several Void Insight Realm cultivators, the token released a terrifying aura, suppressing everyone present.

Seeing so many people gathered before the gate, everyone on the ship became extremely alert. Several elders at the Fusion Realm were even preparing to act, as if anyone in the crowd who dared to make the slightest move would be killed on the spot.

It was the Palace Master’s token of the Boundless Horizon Palace of the Heaven Inquiry Sect.  The gatekeeping disciples froze in place. They no longer dared to question anything and simply allowed the flying vessel to enter the Heaven Inquiry Sect and depart directly inside.

“Is that the flying ship of the Boundless Horizon Palace of the Heaven Inquiry Sect? I wonder who is on board. To travel with such pomp and mobilise such a large formation… could it be Su Qianyi, the Palace Master of the Boundless Horizon Palace?”

The Daoist surnamed Zhu from the Willow River Sword Sect asked curiously.

The disciple guarding the mountain gate happened to know what was going on and replied speechlessly.  “Not really. It should be the two true disciples of the Boundless Horizon Palace returning from travelling.”

Hearing this, everyone at the gate was stunned.  They would never have imagined that this was the lineup for disciples returning from travelling.  With such a formation, why would they even need to travel?

Wasn’t the Boundless Horizon Palace supposed to be the most destitute-and-out palace of the Heaven Inquiry Sect?  Yet with that level of grandeur, that terrifying aura, and that overwhelming formation…  They could probably march straight out and attack an entire sect.

For a moment, everyone at the gate began silently questioning their understanding of reality.
