Part 1

　The female magician Mitsuami was born and raised in Saria.
　Her real name was Madia, but she came to be known Mitsuami because she braid her hair, something that her mother used to do for her, and a style she grew fond of.
　Both of Mitsuami's parents were teachers in the Magician Association, and she was raised surrounded by magician from the moment she was born.
　Magician had their own society, and it was pretty unique one.
　Everything in their society was judged by one’s magical power and skill in magic, so does their social status.
　It was a blessing that status wasn't determined by lineage, but for children born into family of magician, it wasn't that rare for them to be forced into learning magic from a very young age.
　Mitsuami was no exception, she spent her childhood doing nothing but studying magic.
　Since she was fairly talented, her mentor held her in high regard.
　And so, she ended up assisting with the organization of the Council of Sage, where sages from all over the world gather.
　Being able to interact with renowned sages were considered as honor for every magician, including Mitsuami.

「As expected, the atmosphjere here is completely different.」

　Kyouka who walk ahead of Mitsuami spoke while looking around the city.
　The magic city Saria was unlike other human cities, had many buildings related to magic, giving it a unique and distinctive atmosphere.
　The library for gathering knowledge. Alchemy workshop. Observatory for stargazing. Laboratory for creating magical potions.
　And various other facilities.
　The most standing out in particular was the Tower of Sage in the center, designed to enhance magical power, it was also the symbol of Saria.
　Mitsuami felt sense of pride hearing Kyouka's remark.
　Saria was a special place. It cannot be treated the same as any ordinary city.

「Yes, Saria is a city of mages. It must be quite surprising for those who are visiting for the first time from elsewhere.」

　Mitsuami replied and started to introducing the facilities around them.
　Kyouka would show admiration everytime she heard that.
　Her expression reminded Mitsuami of the noblewoman's daughter who had come to Saria before.
　Unlike other countries, Saria did not produce its own food, so it was heavily relying on imports.
　In short, maintaining good relationship with their neighbour was matter of life and death.
　At her master's request, Mitsuami had escorted royalty and nobility from neighboring countries during their visits to Saria.
　And Kyouka was the most beautiful young noble girl she had ever seen so far.
　Those walking down the street was charmed by Kyouka, and couldn't take their eyes off her.
　However, she appeared to be the same as those who did not understand the nobility of magic.
　What was truly matter as a mage was not appearance, but knowledge.
　However, it seems that some female mages did not share this view and are focused on enhancing their appearance.
　That matter had caused enough headache for Mitsuami.
　She felt that such women were not worthy of wise goddess Totona, the Goddess of Wisdom.

　Rather, they would be more suited to a place where followers of the seductive goddess of beauty, Ishtia.

（Well, just because she’s the hero’s little sister doesn’t necessarily mean she’s amazing at magic. She doesn’t really look like the type who reads much, either. What’s she even planning to do at the library?）

　Mitsuami looked at Kyouka as she made such mental note.
　And in a way, that prediction turned out to be correct.
　Kyouka did tend to fall asleep easily if she read long text.
　As expected from her appearance, she leads a life completely unrelated to the library.
　Eventually, Kyouka and Mitsuami made their way to the library.

「This is the library, Kyouka-sama.」
「Really? It's much bigger than the one we have in Eld after all.」

　Said Kyouka as she looked up at the library.
　Mitsuami almost blurted out "Don't compare it please".
　Saria's library was the biggest library in the human realm.
　That was only natural considering its' size.

「This way, Kyouka-sama.」

　Mitsuami guided Kyouka.
　Upon entering, they saw three men having conversation inside.

「Ah, Mitsuami-san.」

　The men turned around upon noticing Mitsuami and the others entering the library.
　She recalled that man's face.

「What are you talking about, Katakake-san? You can't just standing still when you see someone coming to visit the library.」

　Mitsuami admonished the three men who were busy on their own.
　Katakake, like Mitsuami, was a staff member of the library.
　He was serious, and not particularly outstanding.
　He was among the bottom tier as a magician.
　Above all, he belonged to Tarabos faction.
　He was not someone you’d expect to be in the prestigious Magician Association.

「And you, Chijirege-san. If you're not here to read books, I’d rather have you not coming to this sacred library.」

　And then, Mitsuami changed her target to Chijirege.
　While Katakake was harmless, Chijirege was more on the harmful side.
　His behavior was not good, and she heard that he often leave Saria to play in nearby countries.
　His magical power was weak, and there was suspicion that he may had paid Tarabos to earn the title of magician.
　It seems that Tarabos was granting the title of magician to those lacking talent as magician in order to strengthen his faction.
　As a result, some of the mentors argue that the title of magician should be revoked from those who belonged to Tarabos faction.
　However, no conclusion was reached, and the issue was put on the back burner.
　It was a frustrating situation for Mitsuami.
　Mitsuami then looked at the last man.

（Um, what was his name again? I believe he's someone who was granted permission to use the library by Magius-sama. Moreover, he has access to the forbidden archieve of the library…）

　The last man who was talking with Katakake and Chijirege was not a magician.
　According to the policy of the great sage Magius, who believes that knowledge should not be monopolized by the magicians alone, those who are specially approved, even if they are not magician, were allowed to use the library.
　And the last man was one of such person.
　Moreover, Magius had even granted him access to the forbidden archieve of the library.
　Mitsuami and the other staff of the library was truly perplexed by such treatment.
　He was neither a member of the association nor even a magician.
　They couldn't understand why he was granted such permission.
　If he was a renowned magician, they would have likely treated him with respect.
　However, despite having a handsome face, he was nothing but an ordinary person.
　As a result, the director and the other staff who was unsure how to handle the situation, entrusted Katakake, the lowest-ranking staff member, to take care of him and avoided him like a jinx.
　He was looking at Mitsuami and the others with a surprised expression.
　Upon closer look, it seems that his gaze was directed at the person next to Mitsuami, Kyouka.
　Mitsuami then looked at Kyouka.
　The other party look quite surprised too.

「Oh my! I've not expected to meet you in this place, Kuroki-san!」

　Kyouka suddenly rushes over and clings to the arm of the man whose name Mitsuami had forgotten.
