Chiyuki and Kyouka used magic to teleport all the way from distant Eld to the magic city of Saria.
「All hail Saria. Magic does make things more convenient.」
Kyouka looked around as she muttered those words.
The room with the teleportation gate wasn’t particularly different from the one in Eld.
However, once they stepped out from that room, they were no longer welcomed with the scenery of Eld, but that of Saria.
Sometimes, one's senses get thrown out of order because they traveled far in a matter of seconds.
「Agreed. Now then, what shall we do? There's still some time until the meeting, but not long enough to show you around the city.」
Chiyuki muttered so.
Chiyuki came to attend the Council of Sages.
Right after returning from Seard Inlet, Chiyuki and her companions seemed intent on either continuing their work left behind in Eld or taking a break. Thus, Chiyuki had planned to come to Saria by herself.
However, Kyouka, who had recently started trying to learn magic, said she wanted to come along.
Chiyuki had no reason to refuse, but the problem was that Kaya had work to do in Eld and couldn’t afford to leave her post.
Therefore, if anyone were to go, it would have to be Kyouka alone.
Kaya was reluctant to let Kyouka go alone, but since it would only be until the end of the Council of Sages and as long as she didn’t leave Saria, there shouldn’t be any issues. Kaya had finally relented.
That said, since Chiyuki was the only one who holds the title of Sage, Kyouka wouldn’t be able to attend the Council of Sages.
While Chiyuki was attending the Council, there probably wouldn’t be much for Kyouka to do besides sightseeing around Saria.
Chiyuki and Kyouka stepped out of the teleportation gate.
As they exited the room with the teleportation gate, several individuals who appeared to be magicians were already waiting for them.
They all seemed to be magicians who wanted to get close to Chiyuki.
Unlike before, her visit this time had been announced via magic, so it seemed they had been waiting for her.
The title of Sage was granted to the most outstanding magician, and there were many magicians who wished to get close to someone who held such a title.
The magicians who welcomed her might be those kinds of people.
As Chiyuki was pondering that, one man stepped forward.
Judging by his attire, he was likely a "Guru", in other words, a high-ranking magician.
Guru means "one who guides" and is usually used for roles such as teachers or professors.
Since the title was also used outside of the Magician Association, to distinguish between them, those who are guides within the Magician Association were referred to externally as "Archmage".
Behind the archmage stood many people who appeared to be his colleagues or students.
「We've been waiting for you, Chiyuki-dono. I am Magius of the Five Virtues. You may call me Gotoku. I’m also the one in charge of cleaning up after Tarabos-dono. I sincerely apologize for that incident.」
The magician who introduced himself as Gotoku bowed his head.
The name "Magius" was quite a common name, and it was typical for those with the same name to be referred to by nicknames.
She had no idea why he called himself Gotoku, but she knew that she would eventually know the reason as they spoke.
「Don't worry, Master Gotoku. I’m not bothered by it, so please don’t concern yourself with it either.」
Chiyuki shook her head.
Tarabos tried to trap Chiyuki and co some time ago, and Gotoku was apologizing for that incident.
Tarabos, who was the vice chairman, not only tried to trap Chiyuki and co, but also violated several important rules of the Magician Association.
The association took the situation seriously and attempted to apprehend Tarabos, but he managed to escape.
And in the end, he was deceived by a demon and died.
As for Chiyuki, she had no intention of doing anything against those who did not participate in Tarabos' scheme.
To begin with, Chiyuki herself was also a member of the Magician Association.
Given what Tarabos did, she was in a position where she must apologize to the third party.

Gotoku invited Chiyuki.

Chiyuki was smiling lightly as she spoke.
The old Chiyuki would have probably found it bothersome and a waste of time.
However, recently, she had come to believe that if one wants to gain knowledge, it was important not only to read books but also to interact with many people.
Especially since there were things about this world she didn’t understand just by reading the books.
Especially since the Demon King, whom she had thought to be evil, might not actually be that evil.
She hadn't sensed any evil from Pipiporenna, the daughter of the Demon King, whom she had met in the Seard Inlet.
Thus, she realized that she might need third-party opinions from various people.
「Well then, allow me to show you the way. Um, and who might that person be?」
As he spoke, Gotoku looked at Kyouka, who was standing behind Chiyuki.
He had noticed her from the beginning, but simply hadn’t had the chance to ask.
「This person is Kyouka-san. She's my comrade. I brought her along since she said that she wanted to come along.」
Chiyuki introduced Kyouka.
「Comrade!? Then she's the hero's...」
「Yes, she's the little sister of Reiji-kun.」
「Ooh! Is that so!? So you're the Hero's younger sister!? She's just as beautiful as you, Chiyuki-dono! The Hero-dono is truly a lucky man. What do you say, Kyouka-dono, would you care to join us for tea as well!?」
Gotoku extended his invitation with a slightly flustered voice.
Kyouka’s beauty was truly exceptional, and even the male magicians behind Gotoku were captivated by her beauty.

It seemed Gotoku wanted her to have tea together with them.
「My apologies, but I’ll have to politely decline. Since I’ve finally arrived in Saria, I’d like to start looking around right away. Let’s see… I think I’d like to visit the library first.」
Kyouka shook her head, refusing the invitation.
「In that case, allow me to be your guide!」
「Yes! I'll also become your guide!」
「Me too!」
The male magicians raised their hands in succession.
「I don't think I'll be able to enjoy the scenery if so many of you come at once. One guide should be enough.」
The male magicians started glaring at each other when Kyouka said those words.
「Sigh... I suppose it can’t be helped. Master Gotoku, could you please choose one person to accompany Kyouka?」
Chiyuki heaved a sigh as she spoke.
「Hahahaha, it can’t be helped then. In that case, someone of the same gender with no ulterior motives would be best. Mitsuami-kun, you shall become Kyouka-dono's guide.」
「Yes, Master Gotoku.」
At Gotoku’s call, a woman stepped out from among the magicians.
The female magician was still young, maybe in her early twenties.
She had a round face, and her most distinctive trait was her brown hair that was braided into pigtails.
「She is Madia with the braided hair. She’s still young, but quite capable. And more importantly, she also works at the library, making her the perfect guide for showing you around.」
Gotoku spoke happily.
Madia was a common name, at least among the female magicians.
Thus, she was often called by her nickname, Mitsuami (Braided Hair).
「I'm Mitsuami. You may call me Mitsuami, Kyouka-sama. I'll be your guide to show you around Saria during your stay.」
「Well, I'll be counting on you then, Mitsuami-san. Let’s meet up again later, Chiyuki-san.」
「Yeah, see you later, Kyouka-san.」
Thus, Kyouka and Mitsuami left together.
And so, Chiyuki and Kyouka ended up going their separate ways.
