Muto enters an old wooden shed tucked away in the corner of the school building where he usually hangs out and flops onto the bed inside.
「Muto! It's still not too late! Let's beat them!」
The buck-toothed male student bared his canine teeth and forcefully demanded Muto.
「It's useless. That utterly efficient movement, he's strong. That’s probably the rumored Royal Guard Her Highness Rose, Kai Heineman. If we face him head-on, we'll only lose.」
One of the students with a burly body among the entourage crossed his arms and immediately rejected the proposal.
「So you're telling us to just sit here and do nothing!? To those losers who could only get into Ōboro Academy from the start!」
「There’s no need to go out of our way to fight that monster. The only reason he got involved this time is because Her Highness Rose is at risk. As long as we don’t deliberately provoke them, they won’t make a move on us either.」
「Aren't you just getting cold feet, Bill!」
「I won't deny that. Anyhow, count me out of this matter.」
The burly male student, Bill, accepted the accusation and left.
「Are you going to do the same, Muto!?」
The buck-toothed male student narrowed one eye and tried to intimidate Muto.
「He's my prey. You guys step back!」
Muto shouted bluntly, then jumped out of bed and stormed out of the shed.
「Hey, you guys! Are you really okay with being looked down on like that!? That incompetent!」
The buck-toothed male student scanned around as he asked that question.
「My thoughts exactly!! That batard Bill got scared shtless by a mere incompetent, he's a disgrace to the nobles of Amelia Kingdom!」
「I can beat that incompetent on my own!」
Amidst those voices,
「But still, his movements are definitely unusual. He doesn't seem to be particularly fast either, yet he reached Muto even quicker than that Lumine girl, who was running ahead of him.」
Part 2
An elf boy pointed out that fact with an anxious face.
「That’s probably because of a special magic item. I heard he advanced quite far in the Sacred Martial Tournament using that item!」
「So in the end, he's just relying on a magic item. Pathetic.」
「But if that crazy movement of his is caused by the item, then all we have to do is seal the said item, right?」
「It's okay. I have a plan.」
The buck-toothed boy grinned wickedly as he spoke.
「Stop keeping us in suspense, Padde, tell us your plan.」
「Yeah, just recently, I happened to know some people we can use in a tavern in town.」
「People we can use?」
「Yeah, that person is a broker for so-called jack-of-all-trades who take on any job as long as they get paid. We'll hire them to steal that magic item from that incompetent.」
「In short, as long as we steal the item, we can beat that royal guard!」
「But Muto said that he'll handle this matter in person, you know?」
The elf boy tried to persuade the others with a timid voice, but…
「Like I care! It's his fault for chickening out in the first place!」
「That's right! We are proud nobles of Amelia Kingdom. There's no way we’ll keep letting some godforsaken incompetent look down on us!」
Amidst the continuous stream of insults directed at Kai Heineman,
「Alright, let's get in touch with the jack-of-all-trades right away! Got it!?」
When the buck-toothed boy, Padde, sought confirmation from everyone, they all nodded in agreement.
And so, as storm clouds gathered and events took a dramatic turn, Padde and his group set their plans into motion, dragging various others into the fray—all in an attempt to provoke the most terrifying aberration in existence.
Little did they know, they were nothing more than a pitiful herd of lemmings marching toward their doom...
