February Map Update!

Hello Friends!

This past month has been a real adventure! The team is taking a little break from the dark caverns of Marrow and instead we're focusing in on the sunny mediterranean island of Kiala! Progress has been swift, in the space of one month we've covered much of the island in builds including the beautiful naval city of Tsaelakios, the smaller ship-building town of Myrenthis, a gigantic statue of a man that supports the island's water tower, lush green cenotes, and a beautiful observatory on the island's singular mountain peak! This is still a great work in progress, so there's a lot of wool and other placeholder blocks around, but I hope you enjoy exploring it nonetheless! Let's take a little tour:

Welcome to Tsaelakios! This is the largest city on the island and is named for the local sea serpent godess Tsaela'Orak. Tsaelakios is a naval town, built primarily to train and sustain a standing fleet of combat ready ships to be loaned out to the highest bidder. It is home to the largest standing naval fleet in the southern continent and maintains a fierce reputation for it's beautiful and deadly ships.

Next we have the bustling shipbuilding town of Myrenthis. This is the place where some of the greatest ships to ever sail the Oorzan sea were born. Myrenthis is known as a haven for ship designers who are fleeing persecution or who's ideas are too unorthodox for a normal port. It is also home to a famous breaking yard where old ships come to be torn apart and salvaged for parts.

Sitting atop a hill tot he north of the twin cities is the island's source of fresh water. This gigantic statue of a man supporting a pillar is both beautiful and functional. the inside of the column will (eventually) contain a huge Archimedean screw pump that brings fresh water from deep caverns up to the surface. I'm still working out the colors (spoiler, it's not going to be a technicolor nightmare), but I think the shape I have so far is wonderful.

Diving down into the earth, we have the cenotes! These are partially or fully collapsed limestone caverns beneath the island that are home to their own little ecosystems of lush plant life and strange creatures.

And finally, we have the Rajahan Peak Observatory. You may notice that this beautiful structure differs quite strikingly from the style of the other buildings on the island. Where much of Kiala island's architecture is inspired by mediterranean styles, Rajahan has a more middle eastern flair. Even the materials of the observatory themselves are different than the bright white stone used in most of the islands large buildings. This is because the observatory was a gift from a king of a far away land who hired Tsaelakios' navy to aid him in his war many years ago. In return for their assistance, the king gifted them an observatory, magically transported to the island's tallest peak so that the Tsaelakians might take a break from staring out at the sea and look to the skies instead.

We hope that you enjoy exploring this beautiful island as much as we've enjoyed building it. Work continues on the island, so stay tuned for next month's progress update!

Welcome to Project Aenoriia, a gigantic Minecraft worldbuilding project where we're building the country of Aenoriia from my homebrew 5e D&D campaign setting in Minecraft! This is a 50,000 x 50,000 block map for Minecraft Java edition that you can explore to your heart's content. It is an ongoing project and this download is a monthly snapshot of the map as we continue to build! It is a very large file, about 13GB in it's zipped form and 30GB when unzipped, and I'm distributing it using Google Drive, so make sure you have enough space on your computer and time to do the download. To help you navigate the large map, there is a network of command block teleporters situated throughout the world. When you spawn, you will find one such command block nearby that you can use to go to the teleport hub of the world! Just click the button on top and away you go! I hope you enjoy the map and I look forward to sending out the next one next month!
