Episode 17: Stellantis Constructs A Footgun To Surpass Metal Gear
Hello! On this OVER TWO HOUR episode of Tran Girlismo, we catch up on some weeks where decades happened. First, we give an earnest rest in peace to Kyle Busch, one of the greatest drivers of all time, who died suddenly at the age of 41 a few weeks back. (Victoria references a eulogy you should really read, and it's here on Road & Track, from Alanis King. It's genuinely beautiful.)
After that, we have good news finally: Jordan gets a new car!!! And it's electric!!! Hormuz who??? Then we discuss the most bitter contentious topic we've tackled yet: The Ferrari Luce. Is it a horrendous abomination against man and God, or is it fine actually? Finally, we discussed the Ram Rumble Bee, the 777 HP pickup truck launched when The Banks Are Out Of Oil, thickening our shoot-on-sight file at Stellantis HQ.

Though I am a fan of the Luce convincing a bunch of dipshit billionaires to buy a disgustingly ugly car.
I just don't like how the Luce looks like a box. Like, there's the entirety of weird-ass Gerry Anderson devices to look to when designing the bourgeoisie car, and they went with the car equivalent of a Megayacht.
Big fan of this podcast, lots of fun, very informative, makes me feel a little better about all the insane shit happening. But my absolute favorite thing is having to turn my volume up to hear Victoria only to then be deafened by Jordan, which then makes Victoria inaudible again.
William Gibson talked about the cold civil war in his blue ant trilogy so I think it's been around at least since the mid 00s, hell Laura Ingram seig heiled at the RNC in like 2009

Listening to the podcast whilst driving i am struggling to get the volume right - Victoria voice is quiet and Jordan's voice is loud.
We mix for headphones usually, so car speakers are always going to be harder to mange a mix that works for everyone - Jordan

Hey, I drove an F150 when I was in the closet lol I didn’t buy my ram until after I came out. Also, I’ve told my job multiple times that if they try to stick a cyber truck on the back of my truck, it won’t make it to its destination.
I've been driving used ev's as a daily for the past 2 years. Even without the discounts I get for charging at night, it's saved me a ton of money on gas. My only caveat is that if you only have street parking available, charging at home is going to be a pain in the ass, and may not be possible. Just go buy a low mileage used bolt or something till we can get the good Chinese evs.

The fact that you can fight for over an hour on the design of the luce makes it a good Ferrari change my mind
Also it's funny that everyone talks about it like they were going to buy one. Brother we are not the target audience. There's some family fathers on the gold coast of the Zurich lake that waited desperately for something like this and they are gonna like it. It's an electric European sportscar for your family.
My problem with the luce is the more I look at it the more I like it and I really really really wonder if that car might just age really really well...
I do feel that the Michael Bay Transformers edgy look is finally going out of style
Really enjoyed the Ferrari discussion, I'm a racing fan and Ferrari is a confounding and delighting subject to me. I love their flair for design but I despair at their concept of strategy. A funny tshirt design would be "My other car is a Luce"
About the "if you want the sedan go for the BMW I4" There's some reasonably cheap low mileage (<15000 miles) ioniq 6 / ev6 around here and man... 4x4 500+km reach looks like a damn good deal for around here....
As far as I know the charging crapshoot stuff with the ioniq (especially charging speeds) are a problem with the battery preconditioning not working sometimes? At least that's what I remember from the technology connections vids about them. There's a workaround but it's kinda annoying.

I had a very similar Jan 6 experience except it was also my first wedding anniversary and both my husband and I completely forgot and were so confused when people brought it up.
