This idea's been knocking around in my head so I needed to get it out.
I always imagine Ruth to have a wrestling background, but less PRO wrestler and more collegiate wrestler. Not super flashy, but very efficient...

That would be very cool! But that would take lots of time and effort, meaning Peculiart wouldn't be able to provide us with his art anymore. Or at least not as much. Which is what happened with Kazecat. I like Crushing Force, but I miss when Kazecat made artworks of his characters.

For sure! Alternatively the step could be canceled into normal attacks which can lead to some funny combo shenanigans
