not the topic of the video, but i’m st. louis today and thought of you! happy sunday! 🤍
I think there are several songs on this album that are arguably her best of all time, specifically The Cure is unreal imo, but I know for me with music it takes a couple listens for the songs to fully sink in
fave album of the year so far
It’s so interesting to hear the perspective of a “non-fan” (by that I mean she’s not your favorite singer like she is mine 😂)!! I think I also am really attached to the songs from her previous albums, but I think this was her strongest album/tracklist so far. I really like how the songs felt very deliberately chosen and written to create an overarching narrative whereas her other albums feel more like collections of really good songs. I find myself really listening to it from beginning to end a lot because of the narrative whereas with her other albums, I tend to skip around depending on my mood. I really like how this album also had a lot of variety; I agree a lot of her songs didn’t have that same “punch” as guts or sour, but the variety in tone/musicality in this album was one of my favorite parts of it, and it felt like a more “mature” album, if that makes sense? As a fan, I really enjoyed this album and I personally really liked the change in pace for her! Although I do completely get people who prefer her older albums, I do think it’s very much a personal preference thing. The abbreviation of “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love” is a bit unfortunate though 😂
thank you for the "expectations" appreciation 😤
The album came out when my relationship was going good and I was really fucking with the first half and then it fell apart within like a month and I really started fucking with the second half 😭 😂
oh this is my niche
