I thank you for taking a definitive stance against this. The EA company have overstepped the boundaries of the Sims community for a very long time now, but they have really crossed the line at this point. We need more creators like you who are willing to take a stand against EA's predatory practices and behaviors. Thank you for you contribution ^^ EDIT: Continuing on this, I would like to state that some CC creators (like Simandy) were approached by EA to create CC without knowing that it would be published on the marketplace. EA specifically targeted financially troubled or greedy creators and used their content without their explicit informed consent. Simandy has since pulled out of the Marketplace and I hope other creators continue to do the same. I urge you all to check with your CC creators before you cut them off if they appear in the marketplace and ensure they weren't simply taken advantage of. If they continue to cooperate with EA, then I recommend removing any membership and politely informing their fan base so they can make their own decisions. If they were unaware, I recommend informing them and persuading them to pull out from the marketplace. Innocent CC creators shouldn't have to be punished for EA's predatory practices, we should focus on the people who are actively participating in the EA marketplace.

I was saddened when I saw Sixam name on the ad

Though I have loved this franchise since it´s beginnings, I will not be buying anything from them going forward. I have always supported CC creators and that will continue. I look forward to hearing about new creators =) And all of my future content that is the Sims will include CC because I think we should enhance the ways people are able to play free from their greed 💕

I'm so disappointed in EA, since it seams like they want to use CC creators (which they never really acknowledged) for their own personal gain and then do the same thing they forbid us for doing - lock cc behind permanent paywall. Regarding ME, I want to write it here for anyone downloading my content, NOTHING WILL CHANGE. I would not be a part of the marketplace.

Oh my god, I've been keeping my own list of any creators confirmed to not be in the marketplace, and having one post people can add to is easier because I don't have eyes everywhere! Just had a whale of a time combining my list with yours. Thanks for doing this! My only query is that Serenity is on this list, but someone told me Serenity had posted something to an instagram story saying they're going to be on the marketplace? (I don't have insta so can't see stories to check.) I'll be DELIGHTED if I got wrong info.

I am sad because some of the creators I get my cc from is joining the marketplace. You are the only the second person that has come out and said they will not be part of the marketplace and aren't happy about what they're doing. Whoever told them this was a great idea, was high or something.

caio and crypticsim are part of the sims marketplace thing so i would remove them from the list if i were you

I don’t agree with them charging the creators of the CC. That’s not right, and as a console player, I feel like this is amazing—to finally be able to use some of the CC content I’ve always wished I could have. I understand the frustration and outrage, but I think they handled it the wrong way. Why bring it to PC? Why not make it console only? I feel like it would have gone over a bit better.

I stopped playing for a bit before the buyout (unrelated) but I came back to this news. There must be a room where everyone goes when something is going good and they gather and discuss how they can make it absolutely horrible. Lol

I am still heated from the buyout, but the Marketplace takes the cake. Like, who is this benefiting the most? EA. I heard the payout in 70/30, in favor of EA. That crushed me cause I love talking to creators and sometimes giving suggestions for ideas or what to name a hair or outfit. Now it feels distant. Feels like a jumble of money-grabbing FOMO threats. This game means so much to me, and to so many others around the world. I just wanna shake EA and bonk them on the head. 😤 Ok, venting over. 😅

I guess I am at a loss at why everyone is so angry about this...the Sims 3 had both a place for free creator stuff and stuff you bought with SimPoints. How is this any different?

Thank you for your sanity. I have no problem with places like Felixandre who make the most exquisite cc and set it free after a couple months. Places like Anna Quinn, Cowbuild, Ruby Red et al who charge for everything are the scourge of the game(s). I have been lately really turned off by the constant grab for money from EA. It seems from my daily scour of the internet for new simthings that the Tea kit is/was much more popular than the royalty exp. I would agree with that too. The latest exp was unexpectedly boring. Too much use of the same textures, so few new anything and none of it particularly "royal".

This move from EA is despicable. They were already copying popular mods for their expansion packs (but very poorly). Personally i would also recommand not to stop supporting the ones who decided to accept this horror, and very poor deal with EA. Boycotting the marketplace : 100%, punish creators... not such a good idea in my opinion as a decade indie film producer. I would have to write a whole novel and i feel lazy today, but my basic reason for saying this is : if they are shuned from their usual means of living (which is already not much even for the biggest accounts, i've made an estimate), they might need to stay on the marketplace and produce more content for EA in order to make a living. Vicious circle. And EA is still going to make lots of money whether popular cc creators go or not. Personnally i'm big on boycott, so i wouldn't have accepted, but i've worked with many creators and circumstances are different for everyone. Supporting the creators who chose not to use the marketplace is a great idea i will add a few creators to your list :) .

I am here for you and respect your feelings about this. I believe that creators should be compensated fairly for their work, and it feels like they are not paid as much as they should be. Since 50% of people use custom content, I am curious as to why the payments to creators are so low and why we are required to pay additional costs. I encourage everyone to purchase the packs they want and haven't had the chance to obtain yet, and to enjoy custom content while playing their game. Once you've received what you desire, it's okay to hold off on further purchases from EA. Please remember to be kind to those who wish to buy the new packs.
