Hello everyone and happy 2018!
Where have I been?
I'm sorry for my lack of activity lately! The Christmas period has always been a very conflicting and difficult time for me. 2017 has been no exception, and with my YouTube schedule climbing from 4 Spore creation videos to roughly 10 variety videos a week, not to mention the xmas holiday itself, scheduling has been.. trialing. On the 2nd of January I was able to return fully, but very soon after (and still now) I've been suffering with the "Aussie Flu" that's circulating the UK at the moment, and has slowed down not only my productivity but my enthusiasm considerably. Whatever I have been able to produce, I've not been posting it on social media, and particularly here on Patreon, as effectively or punctual as I should be.
When am I coming back?
In short, as soon as I can. I am still very sick, and am actively forcing myself to put out content lately. I've also had certain responsibilities that I am being forced to prioritize, and in short, it's tremendously messing with my rhythm. Which brings me to my next point;
Changes in Ranks & Perks
As hugely grateful as I am for any and all support, the Sun Wyvern perks have taught me a very valuable lesson, and that's that I am not ready to take on commissions. As a result ZBrush and Sculptris models are being discontinued for until a later date, at which point they will be greater than $25. Perhaps Tien-Lung may have a reward now? This change does not effect any current transactions, but does effect all future ones. I do not currently have anything to offer for Sun Wyvern as a replacement in the meanwhile. I will update here when I do. I'd love to hear ideas!
Why the change?
Multiple reasons, biggest one that, contrary to what I believed, I am simply not ready to do commissions. It's too big a time investment and for how much I want to both impress the Patron, be punctual, AND not miss a single video in my schedule, this is incredibly stressful. Additionally, when the perk was first published, I didn't own ZBrush, and I was still amateurish with Sculptris. It's been pointed out to me that the price I've offered for the quality I can produce now is hugely against my favour. While I'm not wanting to charge more "because I can", I do want to raise the bar because, as explained, time is simply too precious to me, and I don't have enough of it. My lack of livestreaming is evident of this.
That's all from me for now. Once more I am sorry for my lack of activity recently! The tl;dr is I'm sick, I have stuff to do and it's hard, when it's all done, we'll return to usual scheduling :) Cheers everyone!
