Should I keep making updates at this same pace?

I’ve been working really hard lately and managed to shorten the update cycle to just one month.

I don't really understand the question. Why do those who plead for longer update cycles not simply wait longer? Personally I don't care so much, but I would argue that by monthly updates you keep people engaged in a monthly subscription. By releasing an update only every couple of months you might have more subscriber hopping. Those who want larger updates can then still subscribe only every now and then., but the monthly update simply makes most sense. To prevent the risk of burning out you have to make your team larger. That is what becoming successful also includes.

Just don't burn out! It serves no one if the pace is unsustainable. Stretch goals can be good to get more out of yourself occasionally, but should always be realistically achieveable.

Generally speaking, "more is better," but you don't have to burn out your body, spirit, or personal life. Waiting six months for an update will put you off following the project. Do what you can and want.

My idea is that a monthly update is an exceptional thing and is also worth a continuous and not minimal expense like Patreon, very good, but as others have already said without you going into crisis, Born out, or plan to do it and then give in, if the conditions are these, a "slower" update is better, I don't know 5-6 as an example

I would say you can do it monthly, I trust yourself and believe in you ⭐️ I follow some other devs that also do monthly updates

My only suggestion : do your best. :) No one is legit to be demanding to the point for you to burn out ^^!

From my perspective, updates every 5–7 weeks seem optimal. Such a period allows people to dig deeper into the game. And the creator has time to refine the consistency of the story and give fans something extra.

You could or you can also edge (delay) us. 😏

Do you develop VSTs full-time, or do you have other jobs? 🤔☕. The important thing is to find a balance between getting enough rest, allowing yourself some downtime (for example, playing something else to get more ideas), and doing regular work. For me, it usually depends on the number of renders and the quality of the story/content. I've waited between 6 and 8 months, only for more than 6,000 renders to be released, and I've ended up loving the work and the available routes. I've also seen slow updates every 10 months with fairly short content 🫠.

Currently fulltime and trying to find the right balance to not burn out XD

I follow a few other content creators and you seems to be one of the absolute most hardworking and dedicated ones to publish frequently. I think you should do it at your own pace!

Only if it doesn't tire you out

Your mental health is priority, with the quality of your work, if we wait a little more and it preserve your health, i’m sure nobody will complain

At your own pace, as long as you dont burn out 😁

in addition to not burning out: I prefer to have more content in a new chapter/release/update and wait for it a bit longer. One of your creator colleagues placed the same question. Out of my experience over the last 3 years following AVN's, content provided after 4 months has much more meaning than the one you can achieve with good quality within one month. For big stories with a lot of route possibilities, twice a year might even be sufficient. Just make sure to communicate in between, that your community knows, the story is not abandoned
