"My time has come."
it still surprises me how far apart animation and painting is in terms of.. hmm, how'dya call it.. principles? fundamentals?
what surprised me the most is the time consumption. I was expecting animation would take thrice the time, since i'm drawing 20+ individual frames. But nope. animation takes more time but only around 40-80% more. Which is way way less than 200%.
pardon me nerding out hehe, but i hope there's some other artists here who can read this and maybe try the same.

Just pan a littleee to the right…
You really are inspiring me to try animation, even if it's something small. Seeing your incremental improvements is encouraging.
i think it's insane that you are even making animation in this style, how are you getting those soft edges and gradients?
Kyle, you put out work so consistently. And always well-made and straight fuckin hilarious, too!I always appreciate me some caustic humor I feel like whether youre saving time or not, your effort and heart is still felt in each one of your works. I see that you wanted us to focus on the knife, cuz that gives context to the entire scene, but i feel like we missed the opportunity to get a look at Ferns thiccness. Know what i mean? Pardon my French.
“Pardon me for nerding out” I literally pay you to nerd out. Please, continue
jumper cables in da fryer
Frirens whole pelvis in those jeans is just 👌
I love how unbothered Frieren is 😆
I'm working on 2 personal 10-15 second animation projects and I don't even know much on how to animate. It's great seeing people better than me show the fun of the field while I'm still learning :)
Mmm...a hot dog and a cigarette. The pinnacle of nutrition!
As someone who works for costco it bothers me that Fern is dressed as a food court employee and Friren is dressed as a front end worker and neither are wearing hair nets. 😭 Love the art itself though!!
I'm both excited and afraid to witness the follow-up to this
Aura: Put the 'dogs in the bag 👿🔪🌭 Also, is the chromatic aberration a stylistic choice? It is interesting.
Animation or art it looks great. You are such a good story teller.
I wish I could go to a custo
Hey I work there
By your math, how many years do you think an animation with your picture rendering/painting would take?
2 years and 6 sets of broken hands
It's the reason I don't paint lol Aside from being a bit bad at it, I just lack the patience to really render things out. If I'ma take a long time drawing something, it'll be because I drew something a couple dozen times for animation >:D
It's half surprising to hear animation isn't that much longer to make, but it makes sense if you're already going off of penvious frames as references, plus carrying over large chunks of bg and character proportions
You add so many tiny details. Its the greatest
Always amazes me, how when a real life badass is called to action, they react like, *Sigh* ' Alright give me a sec' and then the bad guy is disabled on the floor wondering how that much shit is filling their pantleg
True confidence is silent.
Is that a hot dog on the belt ?
borgar
Friren will never allow the honor of the Costco hotdogs to be besmirched
Fern keeps that mf thang on her.
