I think where we ended up wasn't a bad ending, but how suddenly and out of nowhere it happened was bad.
A few chapters exploring this "new world" and showing the better off fates of Aki,Himeno,Kobeni,Kinshibe and especially Reze would have been enough.
My theory is that Fujimoto wrote a complete story in part 1, but the numbers he was pulling in Jump were so good that the execs started panicking near the end and convinced him to do a part 2, and he very quickly burned out. Similar thing happened to Tokyo Ghoul; a clearly great writer finished an amazing part 1 that fell apart rapidly not too long into part 2 and later admitted they were basically a barely functioning machine churning out chapters with no time to spare. Its a shame, but life goes on. Atleast we got to see best girl Power one last time.

I can't hate the ending because of Power and Nayuta coming back, but it's definitely a stretch to say I liked it either, just a very confusing "and then everyone was actually okay!" Ending
I think he was kinda done with chainsawman and didn't really know how to end it. Alas I still enjoyed it as a whole. On to his next one-shot
