Jfc I remember wondering the same shit about the flat guy hole in the wall track system from Beetlejuice. I came to the conclusion that it was by design with the cosmic knowledge that there would be multiple deaths by flattening and that an ideal candidate/lost soul would always be available. Fwiw.
