YKS Premium S7E1: The 12 Davids of Lynchmas Presents: Eraserhead with Oliver Leach (@bakkooonn)
Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring...except the 10 puppies loudly sucking their mom dog's titties!! Also the house looks really gross and it's oddly steamy. That's right, it's the first week of David Lynchmas, a very YKS investigation and celebration of the guy whose movies we'd never seen before and everyone says they're good but we're not sure because we'd rather watch Cheerleader Death Squad 10 and another Hellboy reboot, respectively. Who can say who is right.
Join two big dipshits on their journey to understand this esoteric artist, or fail trying! This week on YKS Premium: Eraserhead, with Oliver Leach.

great ep
I know the odds of you guys watching a 4hr30min academic style breakdown of Twin Peaks are slim, but it'd be cool if you could look into the "Twin Peaks solved" thing wherein someone discovered that the show is a reaction to trash TV that began slowly escalating since the 1950s. Lynch wanted to test if a modern audience can care about the victim's life and history and not just the murder/solving it. TP:FWWM was his second attempt at this and it completely bombed thus proving him correct that audiences just want simple closure with their trash TV. Literally every aspect of the show is a reference to something real world. Cooper = audience, Laura = Twin Peaks the show, Cole = the director (duh), Bob = senseless violence, etc.
damn
I just watched Eraserhead for the first time for this episode and it is outstanding. Truly a cinematic masterpiece. Unlike anything I have seen before. It is my favorite film of all time. My previous favorite - the great Jack Black film Nacho Libre - is now a distant second. Not even close.
Great episode but uhhh this movie sounds like it..sucks?
please consider watching wild at heart for this series
God that'd be such a great ep.
Should I watch Eraserhead before listening to this, if I've never seen it? Hopefully someone who is able to listen to the episode soon can weigh in. Thanks!
i listened to it without having seen eraserhead and from what I can tell the movie doesnt make a lot of sense, so you wont miss much plot wise. but uh if you want to know what any of the images they are talking about look like i would recommend watchingn the movie
