YKS Premium S36E2: Hand-Bumbered and Laster-Burned
YKS...Bold, Mission-Driven, and oh yeah..chock full o’ nuts! On this episode of What The Fund, we explain that reference and more, culminating in what we hope is a fair and free election that will determine the next way for us to lose like a hundred bucks over several weeks of increasingly depressing emails. But you’ll decide! Check the What The Fund poll after the show and let us know if you want it hand-bumbered and laster-burned or not

Just jumping in to add a comment regarding the pharmacy stuff, the pharmacy technician or pharmacist whomever you spoke to should have ran your prescription on your insurance to check that cost for you, however, he was not wrong to tell you to contact your insurance. You can call them and they have a better idea of what you would actually pay regardless of how much it costs from the pharmacy because your insurance has a fixed cost. Now, with a deductible, yes that’s harder, but again that’s just when the pharmacy employee should have ran it under your insurance to check. The only reason I could think that maybe he didn’t do this is because you were still physically holding onto your copy of the prescription and so he just legally was not allowed to run it under your insurance? Technically, it has to be “in the pharmacies’s possession” for them to adjudicate insurance claims. If they had a copy of it from your doctor directly, then it was just that pharmacy employee not running it under your insurance, etc.. Also, if you still have that link where it talks about the EpiPen program or the Cvs’s EpiPen, whatever , you can DM it to me and I can take a look at it because based on what you’re saying, it’s around the time that I was working at Cvs and I could probably tell you what to say if you want to try and utilize that program in the future.
Psych, I heard you give the url in the next like two or three minutes of podcast. I definitely never heard of adrenaclick while I was in the pharmacy though I do know that around the time that I left, they were coming out with a generic for EpiPen, but it was just called epinephrine injection. I would chalk this up to corporate putting some shit on the website that they wanted to make happen but then maybe didn’t really follow through on, which is very common from my experience and is part of why I left. It sounds like also that the person you spoke to is a pharmacist, and if they’re fresh out of school, they’re usually some of the dumbest motherfuckers you’ll ever talk to so not surprising, but unfortunate, you had to deal with that (I say this as someone who was a practicing pharmacist for nearly a decade). If you’re curious in the future, I would just ask specifically the phrase “what generic alternatives to EpiPen do you have and how much do they cost with my insurance?” The website also only promises that it is a $110 charge to the patient (you) out of pocket; I’m not seeing anything about a program as much as a cheap out-of-pocket alternative (meaning they assume it won’t be covered by your insurance). They may need to contact your doctor to get the doctors verbal authorization that a generic switch is OK but typically it’s fine
The coat and vest are nice imo
The tub shroom is a critical piece of infrastructure in my home. This is not a joke. I don’t want to constantly snake my drain!
JF - Japanese sunscreen will solve your eye-burning problems. My favorite is Biore UV Aqua Rich Water Essence SPF 50+. The Accidental Tech Podcast recently did a good segment on sunscreens (Ep. 649, 1:39:30).
I could see my ass walking the dogs in that coat thing.
Start sewing mike! i'm a big dummy and I bought a machine and figured it out
Dogs out on the pod was a wild move, JF.
You have to go to the farm supply store and ask if they have epipens for 17-pound horses
JF...you can order meds like Epinephrine at a more reasonable price through Northwest Pharmacy in Langley, BC, Canada. I am a pediatrician and direct my patients to this pharmacy when local options are too expensive.
I love when the fellas start kvetching about annoying life stuff and let their misanthropic sides come out.
