WIPWednesday - The Hemascoma

Hey Critical Crew!

Next month's "Blood in the Streets" release will take us back to the urban setting of Calydon, and we have another sneak-peek of what's to come. Check out the Hemascoma for WIPWednesday!

"Hemosocomas are corpse-armored, caterpillar-like bloodsuckers that lurk in sewers, tunnels, and urban underbellies where prey is plentiful and escape routes are dark and damp. Unlike vampires or mosquitoes, they feed through tendrils that pierce victims from their mouth and back, draining blood while pinning corpses to their bodies as a grotesque layer of flesh-and-bone armor.

After gorging itself, the creature retreats into a confined space, bloats into a fleshy chrysalis, dissolves into a red ooze-like substance, and eventually emerges as a Blooderfly. Vampires, blood hags, Vermillion Order members, and other blood-obsessed creatures sometimes keep hemosocomas as pets, feeding them victims until they transform into loyal or wandering swarms of blooderflies...."

It ate and ate, but it was still hungry....

How are you going to run this in your game? Let us know in the comments!
