You know, this is kinda written like someone who grew up thinking paganism was dark, painful, and taboo. So they added this ceremony, not because it’s what turns them on but because the taboo aspect is what temps them. Which would track with the author being a young Mormon woman. The piss soul bonding ceremony was very “twilight werewolves” of her. Also I feel the need to point out that pagans don’t just drink piss for religious reasons?
I wonder if there’s a point in this fanfic series where the author will noticeably be in active psychosis while they’re writing. Because there are signs here for sure.

Piss drinking as a warm-up, the insanely detailed ceremony divided into four parts, blood sharing which I don't think is a very healthy thing to do, the fact that this was an hour long, the many... many strict rules that reminded me of the tutorial of At Dead of Night, the monk Stasi out there to maintain said rules, and all the while, Jennah was pregnant and was explicitly told by the doctor she should be taking it easy. What a story xD

This is the first time I was clicking patreon every day for a FF storytime update. It was totally worth the wait.
This honestly is a twilight episode. A Morman teenage girl flees from the reality of deep lonliness into her deepest fantasy romance where it becomes more and more clear that she's also running from her own emotional immaturity and sexual desires that conflict with her religious values. Shes unable to see her fantasy reveals a deep desire for romantic love and a sense of importance in life while being unable to recognize that she herself is unable to give those very things to zlink. Seeking magic to gain understanding of Link rather than have open honest communication with the man she has fooled herself into thinking she loves. Its honestly a good case study of how humans express ourselves through narratives even if we ourselves dont recognize it. Her fantasy is her escape from a real world she isnt fully satisfied in. Thats why she wrote an entire manifesto defending it from critics. Her escape from reality was under attack and it stole the comfort it was giving her.
This fantasy is filling a need to skip all the hard parts of love, so much it’s turning Arin off. It’s probable that the vicious attacks against her personality she mentioned were often about how unrealistic these stories are as expectations of what love is like, predicting that she’ll be a bad partner. However, Jenna was quite clear that a lot of what bothered her about the high volume of verbal harassment her infamous fanfic attracted was the claim she was ‘hurting everyone’ with her cringeworthy shamelessness. That is very believable that they said that, trolls would say that without actually feeling hurt just to be hurtful, and other trolls would be perfectly honest about how they feel Jenna ‘hurt’ them. It’s a standard internet bully type who feels irrationally strong contempt to the point of pain for someone having an embarrassing amount of fun and obsessively follows them, repeatedly trying to hurt them enough to ruin their fun. This bully type so cannot control their reaction to a Jenna that they blame her for their obsession. Her reaction might have been partially from having an unhealthy strong attachment to this fantasy, but the unhealthily strong contempt and sheer number of bullies attracted to a juicy easy target like her had quite a lot to do with it too.

I was missing my dose of piss stuff since the last danganrompa fanfic
Remember when Jenna had obligations to the people she served along her caravan route, and how back in Ch 5 or thereabouts, after sex but before engagement, she thought how sad it was that her obligations pulled her away from Link? He proposed, she accepted, and then without explanation, she was no longer obligated to leave him. In fact, she was obligated to stay with him now, because she was getting married, and I guess everyone she said were 'counting on her' wouldn't see her because she HAD to go to her wedding instead. Arin might be right about where this is going; Link will miss his obligations for his bond, maybe his army duties won't be his responsibility anymore for the blanket obedience of these rules. Jenna already has and will somehow further shed more of her outside attachments for these rules, and I think that will be framed as romantic. This author seems to specifically like the feeling that the couple is complete without any other people in their lives, which is unhealthy in reality. Fantasies can be unhealthy if they WERE real and no harm done, but even as a fantasy, it doesn't do much for me personally.
Mormon fantasy in a nutshell. You may have also noted she has never said one thing about what she finds attractive in link other than his body and notoriety as a war hero. No character traits.
Okay, peeps who actually put the time in to know what this fic is all about, time to tell me so that I don't have to go skimming this: have we hit the climax of crazy? I'm sure we'll still have fun, but it's hard to believe we haven't peaked. Five times. I'm still curious what happens in The Separation, I think we might say 'sad' and 'alone' a few times. Really loved Dee's sinister overlord faces. Arin had to rage through the words like an animal to fight how fucking long and repetitive it is, and it sounded like powering through a workout. Couldn't BELIEVE it when we were only 17 minutes in, and that Arin was stuck repeatedly shouting HAVING SEX. Then we pan, and Danny had rarely looked so sincerely trapped, even on this show. Checking the time remaining at that point made me have to pause and try to get less excited.
It gets...weirder in some ways. Jenna gets the most awesome super special magic powers ever, there is a vague attempt at plot but the writer's allergy to actual conflict means it never really lasts, there's so much more bad sex, but I don't know that it ever reaches these heights of weird sex stuff again.
I'm so confused about the piss drinking, because it didn't feel like it was part of the sexual fantasy. It was just there for some reason😂 And oh lord, the whole ownership surveillance relationship deal. Hard to imagine why someone would find that romantic lol
Yeah, we've read from somebody who gets turned on about piss, and Jenna lavished what sensory detail she knows on everything else. But the piss part is written so quickly that it almost seems like she felt she had to include it, but didn't really want to? Or maybe she is into it, but even if she's shameless about a lot of things, she's not all the way cool with herself there? I really don't know, I'm looking for a reason why it needed to be there, but be skimmed over. She got it out of the way and it didn't come back so fast that I'm almost surprised how much people talked about that part of the ceremony.

The way unpolished writing can play like holding a reader hostage is very funny about this series. Indeed, Jenna has accommodated no one but herself in her writing and does not care how much this goes through my language center like doing the same worksheet over and over.
