The Mario Story felt like a school assessment. Write something nonsensical or mundane and cram as many details as possible in there.

Arin at 24:23 is definitely how I feel the longer and longer My Immortal goes on.

The milk one reads like a writing warmup before they write a Paradise Lost and I love it Wordy fanfic staple. It all reads like this and there’s something oddly charming about it. It’s always Kinda horny “It broke me down.” “It’s one of those stories that turns you as a person.” The secret life every person has, of getting kinda horny from drinking a 2am glass of milk Now who’s gonna write about a prep named Maya Mortal “I’m nut updating” so was Mario I feel bad for laughing so much about the long pause right after “the fat guy who killed Cedric” “I really gotta hand it to this author” no the fuck you don’t 😂 allow children the means to be unironically shitty. There upside to this is it’s been enshrined in the history of western canon, that’s enough. I do think it should be lowkey studied how much jkkkr failed when making Nazis and Nazi youth to convince an audience let alone herself that she comprehends there’s anything wrong with that. The My Immortal author frankly made Draco nicer, and that fascinates me. … I don’t miss the era of girlhood where it was like, simultaneously being aware that you’re hunted by older men & being conditioned to think that’s enviable and if you don’t experience it it’s a character flaw Voldemort’s classic knife. I want a long black bread that sounds delicious. I want a charcoal baguette.

The milk one was genuinely really well-written, really love how fanfiction can really explore stupid bullshit that doesn't matter.

my favourite part of My Immortal has to be when the author and Raven have a falling out so she immediately kills her insert character off in the most vile way she can think of, but then by the next chapter they've made up so the character just comes back with no explanation.

It would be amazing if the authors could collaborate to publish a, possibly grump themed, book of all of their work.

That Mario story was unquestionably written by a good writer as a joke. It's too perfectly done. Everything feels intentional and perfectly placed. It truly feels like a solid writer just wanted to write about something stupid.

You know, a thought occurred to me that the person who wrote the mario milk fic, should write more. I absolutely love short stories that are just a simple plotline of someone drinking a glass of milk or something. the detail they put into the story erupted my imagination and I'm just like, this guy is going places, I hope he writes more stuff.

The Mario one feels like someone trying to make a point. Like they had an argument with someone about how you can fill a story with descriptions and detail and fluff but that doesn’t mean it’s interesting or well written and was like “I’ll show you! I’ll show you all!”

All the shitty spelling combined with the 30 authors notes per chapter, it's really remarkable that they've kept going for this long, you just can't help but respect it Btw Dans ability to flawlessly read all the misspellings and actually pronounce them "correctly" without slowing down or losing track of the story is really impressive
