Steel Front 1.2: Winter Offensive
Version 1.2 is the biggest update to Steel Front so far. It adds a second campaign set in the frozen valley, five mission types, new enemy units and a boss fight every fifth level. A new workshop lets you spend credits on upgrades between battles. Your saved progress carries over, so you can pick up where you left off.
New campaign: Winter Offensive
The war in Aster Valley drags into winter. Snow buries the fields, the river freezes solid, and the Iron Pact digs in for the cold. Old Mule rolls out again to break their grip before spring. You choose a campaign on the main menu, and each one keeps its own progress, credits and upgrades.
A valley under snow. Fields, roads and rooftops are covered in snow, and pine forests carry white caps. Tracks leave deep ruts that last much longer than in summer.
Frozen river and a new lake. You can drive straight across the ice, but your tank slides and turns more slowly on it.
Ice that breaks. Stay too long in one spot, or bring a heavy tank onto the ice, and it cracks, then gives way. You drop into icy water, take damage and slow to a crawl. Shells and artillery can blast holes in the ice too.
Blizzards. Every so often a storm rolls in. The screen whitens, snow streams across the field, enemy markers fade from the minimap and everyone's sight range drops. Use the storm to slip past defenses, or wait it out.
Five mission types
Levels now rotate through five missions instead of only "destroy everything". The current goal is always shown under your score.

Tips
Search & Destroy
Destroy every enemy unit on the map
Red arrows on the screen edge point to enemies you can't see.
Supply Raid
Blow up 3 ammo depots
Anti-tank guns guard the depots. Orange arrows lead you to each depot.
Convoy Escort
Get at least 2 of 3 supply trucks to the green exit flag
The trucks wait if you fall behind, so stay close. Your own shells pass through them safely.
Hold the Line
Stay inside the green zone for 45 seconds
The timer only runs while no enemy tank is in the zone. Reinforcements arrive in waves.
Boss: Behemoth
Destroy the super-heavy tank
Comes every 5th level (5, 10, 15 and so on).
You lose a mission if your tank is destroyed, or in a convoy escort if too many trucks are lost.
New enemies and the Behemoth
Three new enemy units join the Scout, Medium and Heavy tanks.

Stays far behind the front. Once any enemy spots you, it shells your position. A red target circle appears about 2 seconds before each shell lands.
Keep moving and leave the red circles. Hunt it down with the minimap.
Behemoth (boss)
430 and up
2,000
A super-heavy tank twice your size, with a main cannon and a rear machine gun. Its turret turns slowly.
Its front armor takes only 0.8× damage. Circle it and hit the sides (1.2×) or rear (1.8×).
Anti-tank guns appear from level 3 and artillery from level 4. Boss levels bring the Behemoth with a small escort and pay an extra 800-point clear bonus.
Workshop upgrades
Every point you earn in a level also becomes a credit. After each win, the results screen opens the workshop, where you can spend credits on four upgrades. Each upgrade has 3 tiers, costing 400, 800 and 1,400 credits. Upgrades are permanent for that campaign.

Other changes
Campaign select. The main menu now shows both campaigns side by side with your progress in each. "Continue" takes you straight back to your highest level, and the level buttons let you replay any level you have unlocked.
Your save carries over. Progress from earlier versions moves into the Aster Valley campaign automatically. To help you catch up with the new missions, you also get 300 starting credits for every level you had already reached.
Clearer objectives. The HUD shows the current goal and its progress under your score. Depots, trucks, the hold zone and the convoy exit also appear on the minimap and as colored arrows on the screen edge.
New control. Press Q to use a field repair kit.
Results screen. It now shows the mission played, the credits you earned and the next level's mission, next to the workshop.
Good hunting in the snow, commander.
