Duck Defense v1.4 is here — now with real progression 🦆💎

The biggest update yet to Duck Defense. Same rule as always: not one line of code typed by me — the whole thing was built by chatting with Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant, describing what I wanted and letting it write everything.

v1.4 turns a single-run arcade game into something with actual long-term progression. Here's what's new:

🎮 New Game Modes — Boss Rush throws a boss at you every single level for players who just want chaos, and Daily Challenge generates the same seeded duck patterns for everyone each day, so you're competing on a fair, identical board.

💎 Permanent Upgrades — earn gems from every run (even losing ones) and spend them on permanent boosts: more starting HP, more starting gold, a bigger starting mag. Progress now carries between runs instead of resetting every game over.

🏆 Leaderboard & Achievements — local top-5 scores tracked per mode and difficulty, plus 7 achievements to chase (Boss Slayer, Untouchable, Nightmare Survivor, and more) with their own popup and sound cue.

🐕 Companion Pets — pick a Dog (+10% gold), a Cat (combo decays slower after a miss), or a Parrot (faster reloads) to bring into battle.

🔫 2 New Weapons — the Sniper for huge single-target damage, and the Flamer, a hold-to-fire weapon that sweeps a stream of fire across the sky.

⚡ 3 New Equipment Pieces — a Lightning Rod that auto-zaps the nearest duck on a timer, a Guard Dog that barks a warning just before an egg drop, and an AA Missile that clears the whole screen once when your house is nearly destroyed.

🌀 Storm Boss — a brand-new boss variant with its own attack pattern (wind storms, triple egg-rain) alternating with the original boss.

👻 Stealth Duck — a new duck type that blinks in and out of visibility, forcing you to time your shots.

🏠 House Skins — unlock Halloween and Lunar New Year reskins of your house using gems.

⚙️ Accessibility Settings — a colorblind mode, adjustable crosshair size, and adjustable aim smoothing, plus haptic feedback on mobile when your house takes damage or a boss goes down.
