Monday Report #23

A few updates from me, and then Proxy will take over.
1. What's up with the delays?
Well, last week we got the new RTX5090 PC's, and we got 29 of them. We had to unload them from the truck and unpack them so just on that we lost half a day. Next, we had to remove all the M2 storage from our old PC's and copy it over to the new PC's (we had to copy 1.8TB of assets with over 7 million files). So yeah, that took like 3 days. After that, we had to set up new Windows on all PC's, set them all up, and install all the programs, so 2 days went bye byeee... But now we are done with all that stuff and can get back to work.

2. What now that you have the new PC's?
We create all our renders in Daz3D, and well, the new DAZ software that supports 5090 GPUs is still in BETA. (I would say ALPHA, but they call it BETA for some reason.) 99% of plugins don't work, there are random crashes, the viewport (where we work) is totally fucking unoptimized (it's lagging), there is a random bug where when you create an image, it won't load, and so on.
No, no wait, the batch plugin (to render multiple images flat out doesn't work), so we had to create our own BATCH RENDERER.exe that renders the images. So yeah, we lost some more time on that... There is also some good news: we are squashing the bugs, looking for workarounds, and generally, the workflow is getting back to normal. The rendering speed of the new PC'S is insane, and it should speed us up.
3. Future game updates?
Things are getting back to normal, and we should be able to release updates every 2 weeks again. And with the new rendering power, we will be able to increase the quality of the renders and the lenght of animations.
TLDR: GOT NEW PC's > HAD TO SET THEM UP > BUGS IN NEW DAZ > FIXING BUGS > THINGS GETTING BACK TO NORMAL

The new content is great. However, I would really appreciate it if you could also share the original high-resolution images through Google Drive so fans can keep them. Another development team whose Patreon I follow shares the original 4K images via Google Drive whenever they update their content after I mentioned that I’d love to keep the originals. I know their kindness and consideration are by no means something to take for granted, and I’m very grateful for it. If possible, I’d like to kindly ask Inceton Games if something similar could be done here as well.
