Dynamic Userforms Update [Gold & Silver]

Hello Members!

In this week’s Feature, Fix, or Focus, we take last week’s Dynamic Userforms training.

Here are the updates I made for this training:

· Add New Record requested by Bricena Miguel, Fernando Lopez, Joe B, & Larry Duffie

· Delete Record  requested by Ian H and Larry Duffie

· Dynamic Combo Box requested by Fernando Escalera Lopez

· Dynamic Text Box Height requested by Mbobo Phiri

· List Box Total requested by Fernando Lopez

Please don’t forget to add your requests for your own Feature, Fix or Focus each week when I post a new video, right here on Patreon. Each week I will either add a new feature, fix a bug or an issue, or create another training with a special focus on any part, all based on your feedback and comments.

Make sure to view the brand new and updated training and download the updated workbook in the attachments below.

As always, great to have you here, and thanks so much for your support.

I have not tested this out myself, however if you post it in our Excel For Freelancers Facebook Group here: http://bit.ly/groupexcel I am sure there are many people that can help with that

Hi Randy, it is possible to put the listbox selected item on the label caption ?

E
Excel For Freelancers · March 8, 2022

Yes i am sure it is. You can use the listbox change event along with the listbox item # to determine which item was selected or the value of that item. You can then apply this value in VBA as the value of the label. I hope this helps and thanks so much.

Hi Randy. One last thing would it be possible to add to the setup sheet the option to save the created userform and controls to allow some vba error checking etc. Would act like a small data form app but allow for vba changes, checks, validation etc

Hi Glen, certainly, anything is possible. Since I have already completed the update on this one., feel free to download it and customize it however you like

Hi Randy. Would it be possible when creating the userform and the cell has a formula in it that the form could be loaded with that formula or have it calculate or protect entry of the form textbox

E
Excel For Freelancers · January 31, 2022

Hi Glen, when loading the form, the value/ result of the formula would be loaded without issue. However when saving you can add a caviat If statement, perhaps check for the cell value that starts with an "=" and if it does then do not replace the contents. This would preserve the formula. I hope this helps and thanks so much.

Thanks I will give it a try using 1 table per sheet

Great Update Love It. I did find an error in the setup sheet code if the sheet you are loading has more than 1 data table on it the table headers are added from the last table

Hi Glenn, thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed it. I think we would have to set a column limit based on a single table, however in the applications I design i keep it to a single table, except for advanced filter criteria and results, So if you stay consistent with your table design, and allow for max # of columns, you should be good. I hope this helps and thanks so much.

Otra súper mejora seria que en la list box ya que se agregó un total que se subieran varios totales si existen columnas numéricas

Hi Fernando, certainly this is possible. Please download it, customize it and let me know how you achieved this. Thanks so much

Great updates! Is it possible to move a hole row to a next sheet, when a recuirt field in the form is filled.

E
Excel For Freelancers · January 10, 2022

HI Mohamed, you can create another database and based on data values entered by the user, you can save it in any specific database, however the # of columns should be the same if possible. Make sure that a record only has one original database in which it is stored. You are then free to display this data on any sheet. I hope this helps and thanks very much.

Excellent updates!! Is there a way to update the delete feature so that you can undelete too if needed? Essentially having the deleted rows added to a separate "deleted rows sheet". This would allow to undo a delete (ie restore).

E
Excel For Freelancers · January 10, 2022

Hi Joe, Yes it is certainly possible with an Archive Table/Database. Records deleted are moved to an archive database and from that database they can then be restored to their original location as long as within that database you include the original sheet name. I hope this helps and thanks so much.

Hello Randy, i see you made awesome updates. But i see my request wasn't added :( I still can't remove items from the Listbox (as i requested :) ) You can only delete records from the sheet itself. Any solutions? Thanks

E
Excel For Freelancers · January 10, 2022

HI Ian, the ListBox results are based on a filter (Such as Invoice # or Customer ID). To remove items you would first have to change/modify the source data. I hope this helps and thanks so much.
