Wedding Belles Episode - Behind the Scenes
I sat down and did the math today, and kind of surprised myself with how much time I actually spent on this episode.
Prep work: 10 hours
Filming: 11 hours
Editing/Voiceover/Sound Effects: 5 hours
I didn't get as much behind the scenes footage as I'd hoped to, but I kept getting busy and distracted! Here's what I do have, along with the aftermath and all the feelings involved.
I recognize the absolutely insane freedom and privilege that I have, getting to do what I do. Telling stories has always been a passion, getting to share them is an honor, and being able to support myself with my stories? A dream. A dream that is only possible because of all of you.

I've been working on a super cut of Hells Belles to post to YouTube, a "season 1" and "season 2" effectively. As I've been organizing and editing those videos, I realized that it wasn't just character growth for the actual characters, it was growth for me too. I had a moment the other day looking at the first few episodes of HB I ever did, back when I thought that it would never be anything more than a brief little idea to have fun with, and I realized how different I am as a person.
I was angry then. Angry, and hurt, and lost, and scared. There are many factors that have contributed to my growth, but in all honesty, being able to share my creativity, and have a place to dip my toes into being my true authentic self, was a critical part of that. And now we are here.
Thank you all. For the views, the comments, the laughs, the support, and your stories. I hope to continue growing and sharing stories with everyone for a while yet.
But in the meantime, now that we've gotten the gooey stuff out of the way, enjoy some behind the scenes!

I loved it! And it's totally normal to want to cry after completing something big, like you just did. I used to cry after every closing night of a show, and it's a way for your body to reset after such a large accomplishment.

It was fabulous and even if you think that it's not as hard as working in construction. You are using different muscles and it is just as tiring changing camera angles, costume and scripts and personalities as any manual labour. You are fabulous and cry if you need to. The crying can be a release of stress. I'm also really glad that you feel better. You are fabulous and really it's a joy to be able to watch Hells Belles. I look forward to it every day.

This was such a fantastic effort on so many different levels. The amount of work, planning and preparation that went into this definitely shows. I mean, this is like doing a dozen different thirst traps, plus all of the costuming and dialogue and staging and everything else that goes with it. Love the interaction between our favorite characters. The Princess Dagger = Chef’s Kiss!! I love how Penny has changed – there’s a message there that whether you’re living or existing, growth still happens. You thought of gilding Lady Lilith’s horns! Sharkie makes a great orca! And on and on. Thank you for all that you put into this. I mean this was a labor of love - we can tell you poured heart and soul into this. That’s why your following has grown so much so fast.
