😎Modeling his flag with pride is our gorgeous community model winner, Johnny Moore by romantbrandt84. Johnny grew up in Newcrest with his two brothers Vinny and Danny. His summers were spent in Tartosa with his grandparents, and he loves dancing and people watching.
🤩Modeling her flag is Vivienne Bertrand, a Sim inspired by the Venus Xtravaganza documentary on Netflix. She’s not based on Venus herself (I wouldn't be able to capture her because I am not good at making Sims), but I was moved by what her story represents: the quiet power of being seen. I just wanted to capture the kind of radiant femininity Venus embodied.
A flag and its colors are extremely symbolic and so I wanted to make sure the celebration was captured correctly by using the eyedropper tool and painting everything individually in the precise colors of each individual flag here, because the original artist's meaning behind the color choice is symbolic and should be respected. Contrast, shadows and light were added onto the original color's hex code after laying down the bases.
🎨Just as an example, the Progress Pride Flag's colors symbolize the following (Quoted from this link - You can read more about the flag’s meaning here):
Black and Brown: These stripes honor people of color within the LGBTQ+ community and those impacted by AIDS/HIV.
Light Blue, Pink, and White: These colors represent the transgender community, reflecting traditional gender colors and those who identify outside the binary.
Red: Symbolizes life.
Orange: Stands for healing.
Yellow: Represents sunlight.
Green: Denotes nature.
Blue: Signifies peace and harmony.
Violet: Represents spirit.
This shirt was meant for those who need to feel seen and be proud, but it is very much also a reminder for anyone who needs to know it's ok to not be shouting it in the streets and that you CAN celebrate in your own quiet way if you need to. For example, I also found this really great article for 5 ways to celebrate Pride when you’re closeted, and I am hoping this shirt can allow for a 6th way in your private Sims world if you need. 🌻
