Brief status update
Hey folks!
The new "Big Thing" is coming! Soon! Ish!
I'm still trying to understand and solve a few stability issues, but we're getting there. It will impact many of the games in our collection, including future ones, so it's very important that I get this right or I'll be breaking too much stuff.
Speaking of broken stuff, before the big release I'll try to publish an interim version with just the fixes for games which have been damaged by recent official updates (or by mistakes of my own). I'm still tweaking a few patches, and at the same time I need to make sure that the changes will be compatible with the new framework, so please forgive the sluggishness.
However, stay tuned because later today I'll be publishing a real treat!! Our friend Brandon has created a short video tutorial meant to help new Patrons install the mod, and he will soon follow up with other videos of general interest (gameplay, configuration hints, announcements and so on), so please give him a big round of applause as he debuts his newly created YouTube channel!
Thank you for the patience and understanding, and see you soon! Ish!!

It is possible to have the emulation of the movement in room scales, like the DR mods. Beef or UEVR? 🤞🤞🤞
So I’m playing on updates cyberpunk and finding a couple of glitchy things, can’t loot or activate lifts. If I draw my weapon and aim pulling trigger the looting mechanic works. Items dropped on the floor also can be picked up. Doesn’t work with lifts so anywhere that needs a lift to access seems to be broken, unless the lift to the roof area out back of Mistys is locked as that’s the only one ive tried.
Yup, the update broke some of the patches for the mod. Luke is already aware. If you are on Steam, you can opt into the 2.13 beta which will roll it back so for you, so things work as intended.
Does this version work fine with VD?
It should. Cyberpunk just got a surprise update which broke some of the mod functionality. Of course, they would do that right before a big mod update :) You can opt into the 2.13 beta branch on Steam though and the mod will work as intended.
Gaaah, bloody cyberpunk is updating, anybody updated already and does v15 work still?
Nope, I should have checked the log file before I said it was fine. There are a few broken patches, so some things won't work correctly. There is a beta 2.13 you can opt into on Steam for the time being.
Is it too much to ask to get a settings database up and running, that way people can pivot data to see what works, I.e see what hardware you need for highest performance, or see what the highest performance config is based on hardware you already own. Could be crowdsourced from patreons?
I think Luke can make a settings post where Patreons can share their settings and ideas in the comments section. I think that would get complicated because there are so many different parts that come into play. Not only system build but also headset and how it is connected. Not to mention for each game and its own settings. You could try asking in the Flat2VR Discord if they would make a channel specific to that but probably not.
Just Noticed cyberpunk is getting a new update TM 2.2, probably gonna slow things down with LR mod and break alot of the mods -was preening my game for the new realmod update.
Be careful everyone make sure to not update your game. Update is likely to drop today actually!!!! Hopefully the latest mod comes out on schedule working with the latest game update... fingers crossed!
You said you will be publishing the 'real treat'. Was that postponed?
Still working on it. Plan is still to have it hammered out by the holiday :)
So just wanted to ask a couple of questions btw... When optimizing Cyberpunk. If goal is the clearest picture. Is DLSS quality or native the better option? I guess DLAA would be the best but probably not worth it right? (again asking only about the best picture quality). Should I bother with DLSS sharpening or only stick to the mods options? Finally do you know if 30 series cards just aren't that good at AERv2? Using 1/3 option often makes the game stuck for a moment, latency skyrockets and after a minute it runs okay until it happens again (rtx3080). Maybe I just need a lot more overhead? Thank you for your time you sir of exquisite culture xD !
Does it matter what FOV you set it to?
Hey Brandon and everyone... Im back again after some time because I heard of the HFOV VFOV update. Tried it on my Quest 3 in Cyberpunk and I am very impressed! Big difference on my setup cause when I first got my Quest 3 (after using Reverb G2) this mod looked absolutely terrible on it. Seems like I signed up again just in time for another big upgrade? Wow this mod has grown so so much, it's really getting close to perfect and I never would have believed it...
Hey Brandon waht Do You think would gohst Recon wildlands be posible to relize or Do You think taht IT would be way to complicated. Kind regards from Germany
I don't know of any plans on doing it and Luke hasn't mentioned trying it at all. No telling unless he tries it. Even on the same engine, each game can be really different in the way it implements or accomplishes the same things. For instance, he said he would rather stick his hand in a hornet's nest than try to mod Witcher 3 after trying. While some games he was able to get working relatively quickly. I am not always aware of what Luke is doing, so I wouldn't even necessarily know if he had tried it. Probably not though. Next time he asks about what people have asked for on here, I'll make sure to include it with COD, but even then, other games have been requested much more, so it would be low on the list of requests. In short, I wouldn't count on it, but ya never know :)
More specific PSVR2 support! PS You might be my favorite person ever for giving us this mod!
PSVR2 works perfectly fine with the mod. What do you mean by specific support??? I don't think any headset has entirely specific support. Some have certain compatibility issues that may not be addressed any time real soon because such a low amount of people use them comparatively. Quest/Meta is the overwhelming majority of users. But again, Luke is not specifically targeting only that user base.
A youtube channel is great idea, we could use not only tips and tricks for REAL VR but also recommendations for visual and performance mods, among other things. Pretty sure this will get plenty of support.
I don't know about the mod recommendations outside of things like a first-person camera or something like that for games that Luke didn't add a preset in for. I mean I have thought about doing a Cyberpunk specific video on how I would approach game settings in general for VR and I could add a modding section in, but it would be basic stuff that really matters visually like the Lut mods and texture mods. I wouldn't want to get too carried away with adding extra mods, as they might break or cause compatibility issues down the road. It will be slow starting out because I am not a YouTuber and had to do a lot of learning just to make this first video. But hopefully I'll get better at making them with each release :) I am guessing that if I asked Luke what mods he recommends, it would probably be a pretty small list and it is important for me to keep the REAL VR specific videos in congruence with the experience Luke wants people to have with his mod. Hope that makes sense. I have never asked, so I don't know for sure, but I think that is a pretty solid guess :)
Hi Everyone! I’m brand new around here and can’t wait to try the Cyberpunk mod. Wondering if I should dive in now or wait until this next “Big” update drops. Also quick question, any recommendations on which is the better experience for Cyberpunk, Quest 3 Or PSVR 2? Also unfortunately I don’t have a 4090 gpu, I’ve got a 4080 super
4080 super is plenty good enough. Honestly, I would wait. If you have something else in your backlog of games to play in the meantime, I recommend holding off until the next release. If Luke says it is enough to get people to do a whole new playthrough, worth waiting :)
What's everyone else's guess for the new "Big" tech thing?
Finger capturing. So, you have one perfectly working finger in the world of Cyberpunk! What will you do with your finger? Will you pick your nose? Will you pick someone else's nose? You could incapacitate enemies by poking them in the eye! Oh, the possibilities just a finger can present! Thats my guess :)
Thanks for the update; I'm really egger! Cyberpunk gonna go crazy!
Cyber psychosis version!!
What is the YT channel?
The video is embedded in the pinned post now :)
I'm going to call it: A fix to the DLSS/TAA/ghosting-shimmer. (don't hate me)
I was getting this error Expression: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005) in phantom liberty Spider & flies Were you and president are trying to kill the spider tank, I tried many things unsuccessfully I was using the Luke Ross Mod RealVR, I disabled the mod by renaming dxgi.dll to _dxgi.dll found in game folder /bin/x64 the adjust the graphic setting to your monitor and play past the problem section save then undo the changes and start playing in VR again. I could see my GPU spiking in task manager when the issue occured, so it looks like RealVR was causing the issue at that particular point.
If you could email me a save file for that location to chronowake@gmail.com I'd be grateful. I don't have a save there anymore. It is a known location that causing crashing for lots of people. Only current workaround is to disable the mod by renaming dxgi.dll to dxgi_bak.dll and playing through it flat. I have some software for capturing crash info now so if I can get a save, I can see what I can get and if it will help Luke figure this one out.
Looking forward to it. Brandon was a HUGE help getting me started with the Mod…Thanks Again Sir!
My pleasure :)
As a long-time and proud supporter, I salute you...and humbly request a Starfield VR mod. Cheers, mate!
Someone is already testing a VR mod for it. Just hasn't made any VR headlines for some reason. It looks like it is pretty basic at this point, but they still plan on working on improving it over time. There is a forum post on Flat2VR discord about it. They are full up on testers last I looked but I am not keeping up with it, so they could need more at this point.
Does the new "Big Thing" include Pimax Crystal Light compatibility?
Interesting 🤔
Luke, I have recently started playing cyberpunk with your VR mod and was blown away. You are a genius and should be inducted into gaming hall of fame ❤ ❤ ❤
Thanks Luke 🔥🔥🔥💪🏽
I'll pay you $1000 if you can make a VR mod for Farming Simulator 22/25. I absolutely love your VR mods and hate having to use VorpX and get nauseous.
Goat Simulator Remastered works really well with UEVR. That is kind of headed in that direction 😉 If you have ever wondered what one of your goats might do if it wandered away from your farm.
God, I just can't wait for this new announcement, I wish we got a hint! I have no idea what it could be that's so massive and applies to all the games. Looking forward to it!
Man oh man I hope this isn't being oversold. I have 9 days off for Christmas and if your bringing greater resolution and clarity to CP2077 it's going to be a great holiday. Best 10 bucks Im spending right now. Oh and Brandon, you got a day one subscriber to your channel here. Can't wait.
Hi Luke! Hey, there's a game coming out very soon about some guy that wears a fedora, carries a whip, and hates snakes. It would be a fantabulous experience in VR. Just curious!
Eagerly awaiting. Meanwhile what will it take to get RDR2 to AER2? haha. Name your price! We will crowd fund you.
I’d like the thought of it, but doesn’t that gonna affect with what Luke Ross said during his “start here” post for a new users. Specifically for RDR2, idk what AER2 is “Additionally, my VR framework was able to connect to a few well-known games by Rockstar and 2K, which people loved to play in VR with the help of my mods, but following a DMCA notice issued by Take-Two (owner of Rockstar and 2K) they are no longer supported in any way”
Your brilliance knows no bounds good sir! Cheers to you and all the hard work! 🫶🍻
I'm very sorry about the lack of proper support for AMD cards, but there's nothing I can do at the moment to extend AER v2 to them. Either the hardware is not providing the necessary functionality, or it's not being exposed via the public API. AMD didn't respond to my requests for contact, and NVIDIA cards are much more suited to VR anyway besides accounting for more than 90% of the market, so I really don't know what to do :-(
Awesome work, you guys are the best!
