E426 - Return of Tarmac ft. Victoria Scott
We're joined this week by car fan and understander Victoria Scott to debate the finer points of blasting down British country roads, as well as where roads and the potholes that hate them come from. But before we got to that, we also discussed how to hack the planet by politely asking the Abominable Intelligence, as well as speed limits for e-scooters unless your pizza delivery will take 30 minutes or more wherein they hit 999999% speed.

Re: Jamie’s comment about how computers peaked in 1997, I’ve thought that myself. I think that was around the time you started not having to mind every byte in your code, or spend time checking your hard disk wasn’t filling up on you. A lot of advances since have felt more like desperate attempts by tech companies to convince us that they’re still cutting edge
Hailong batteries are pretty good. I've done over 7000 miles and it's going strong. It will do 30mph but I don't cos' I'm not an asshole. You can buy a Ducati superbike that will do over 90mph in first gear but the cops aren't confiscating those and smashing them up. They prefer to concentrate on the vehicles of the working class.
