Law School Episode 5 - DevLog #22
Hello everyone,
Last week was one of the weaker ones.
I spent some time writing the different endings and outcomes of the event, and realized I needed to reopen a few parts, add some renders and dialogue, fix some variable issues, that kind of thing. Nothing too major, but for some reason, my brain really struggles to reopen a scene once it has checked it off as "done." So yeah, I was pretty slow this week.
It also doesn't help that I've managed to give myself sciatica, and one of the downsides is that sitting for too long is now very painful. I'm hoping to get that fixed soon, but getting treated here isn't exactly fast.
On the hardware side of things, after a few crashes and unexpected restarts from one of the rendering PCs, I decided to upgrade the RAM in all of them, bumping them from 64GB to 128GB. I'm hoping it'll help, since my workstation has been feeling a little slow lately, and that it will let me fully take advantage of those 5090s. I read somewhere that having three times the amount of VRAM in regular RAM is recommended, so I should be covered now.
On a more positive note, I did quite a bit of writing. Nothing extravagant, but I finished writing this conclusion from start to finish, including the last LEWD scene. Since parts of it have a lot of characters present, I'm hoping each render won't take too long to pose and that I'll be done with it before the end of this week.
I actually really enjoyed writing the conclusion scenes with all the different outcomes. I may end up adding a little more content to them, but if I do, it'll be next month, after I'm done working on DAY 3 of this episode. I need to get my mind out of this lake house, or I may start decapitating some LIs.

Story content: 49 scenes written (47,656 words)
That's an extra 127 renders since last week. I'll be honest, I'm pretty disappointed with that number. I know I've been slow lately, and the time spent on this event has been weighing on me.
The heat isn't helping either. My bedroom reached a mind-blowing 28 degrees today. I'm working on a solution for that, but in the meantime, it means I can't run my PCs for a full 16 hours a day. I need to shut them down earlier so I can at least try to fall asleep in a somewhat cooler room. It means queues are getting larger, which is stressful.
My brain has been sluggish all week, especially with the injuries, but it is what it is. Lesson learned, I'll do better this week.
I'm thinking I'll take a day off before getting started on the LEWD scene this week, assuming everything goes according to plan. Just trying to get a little energy back in the tank before tackling the final scene of this event and day.
Anyway, that's it for this progress update.

Hello, I'm French and I really liked the first game. Do you know when season 2 will be released?
I have just completed Season 1 on Steam. It is one of the best VN's on Steam. The pacing is great, the story is very compulsive and has superb Characterization. MisterMaya keep up the great work, I am really looking forward to Season 2
Ngl seeing progress reports like these always make me want to have a go at trying to make games, pc is certainly Powerful enough to run whatever I need for a starter setup safely but then I remember I could never possibly write to save my life lmfao The coding- rendering and all that does seem fun tho and is something I’m actively learning atm I’d never be able to write dialogue though lmao
Fine, I'll replay Season 1-2 again. Just because I'm getting so hyped up from the logs and not because I'm so afraid of the consequences of my manwhoring that I wan't to have just another save...
Yeah i am going to have to do some bad thing's my ole rtx-3090-24 about to die. Fun fact the guy i think doc guillotine , designed it due to messy painful beheading's, to stop people's pain.. Beheadings then became easy.... He hated himself afterward...Good work M.M. , sit down with a good single malt and take a short break.

Hey thanks for the update keep up the good work, btw im a physiotherapist, if you want to soothe the pain from the sciatica, apply on the affected area heat for 20 minutes then try to auto massage placing something on the floor like a tenis balls for example then sit on it and do slow circles until you feel some decrease on the tension and then stretch 20-30 seconds 3 times. hopes it helps.

Wow great work! Although please take it easy on yourself sciatica and back pain are no joke. Appreciate your hard work don't be so tough on yourself, I could only DREAM of getting a good paced 127 renders in a week for my AVN, alas I only have a measly 5070 and a stubbornness about bumping it down to 2k lol. Keep it up your one of the best Maya!

Advice from a therapist, strengthen your hamstrings and glutes. They weaken from too much sitting, it will save you a lot of lower back pain in the future. Thanks for all the hard work!

MisterMaya, you are an absolute beast, you know that? Not even your equipment or your own body can handle the grind. I also recommend alternating between ice packs and heating pads to reduce inflammation and keep blood flowing. Also, went to check which gal is in the picture, got too distracted by ma belle Taylor.
We all know you're a hard-working guy, so we don't mind if you take it easy for a bit—we know the update is going to be great anyway. Exercise and ibuprofen help with sciatica. You can cut off the character's head as long as it doesn't affect Aurora. In the picture are Gigi, Fifi, and Lili. Be great and shine like a star! (la guillotine… pfff… c'est ridicule!)

Nvidia’s finical report just dropped and I suspect there’s a separate revenue allocation for the money they make of AVN devs. Hardware is expensive as fuck man.
