Law School Episode 5 - DevLog #3
Hello everyone,
Last week was another solid week, even if I ended up doing a bunch of stuff that wasn’t what I originally planned. In the last devlog I said I’d start the LEWD scene, but I pushed it to the end of the week instead.
Not trying to spoil anything, but if you played episode 4 you know there are two different ways the game kicks off, depending on a choice the MC made. The LEWD I mentioned happens at the end of one of those “paths” (not the personality path, the other ones I talked about before).
I figured I’d build up the other path a bit more before going deeper into this one. That other path was supposed to have 3 LEWDS on day one, but I decided to make it 2 to balance things out a little, and I’m moving one of them to the next day. So yeah, still no actual LEWD work done yet. I only reached the start of it yesterday.
And this scene is already huge. I’m over 100 renders in and I’m not even at the LEWD part yet. It’s a complex one too. Then there’s the hugs and the conversation, so it’s shaping up to be one of those 250+ renders with like 15 animations scenes, and I’m probably going to lose my mind this week. But we keep it rolling lads.
It was actually supposed to be even bigger, but I got bullied into trimming it down by another dev who is, like, a total super meanie and never helps, so I did it. Annoyingly, it ended up being the right call, so I’ll let it slide this once.
Anyway, numbers time:
Static renders: 764
Animations: 3
Story content: 14 scenes written (9,859 words)
That’s +228 renders and one 20-second animation (very cinematic hehe). I’m really happy with those numbers. This week will probably dip a bit since I’m on a LEWD, and those take time. If I manage to knock out all the animations this week, I still doubt I’ll finish the whole scene. The hugs take forever, and there’s an important subject I need to bring up at the end of this LEWD, which means I’ve got to introduce it in a way that works whether they slept together or not, and make it feel seamless with player choices. Super fun.
I can’t wait for you guys to be locked out of girls VERY SOON.
On another note, I’ll be away for 10 days at the end of the month. Not ideal, but maybe the break will actually do me some good. People keep talking about “rest.” Never heard of it. So we’ll try it. I’ll still be writing some script though, so I can come back ready to tackle the 3D work.
I think that’s it for this week’s update. I’m honestly excited to get into this LEWD, it involves some technical stuff, but it can be very hot. Anyway, I’ll see you next Monday. Have a great week!

GOOD MONDAY MORNING 🌅🌞, MERRYMAYA AND EVERYONE!!! The first Dev Log of the New Year 🥳🎉!!! I hope everyone enjoyed and had a fantastic back-to-back Holidays 🎁🎄🎅☃️❄️/🥳🎉🎆🎇🧨!!! The back-to-back Holidays were nice. I had a nice two-day break for both weeks. But unfortunately… that means I also lost two days of pay for both 😅. And with how much I spent during the four months (Oct/Halloween 🎃👻, Nov/Thanksgiving 🦃🍽, Dec/Christmas 🎁🎄, and Jan/HNY 🎆🎇). Every paycheck counts 🤣. Financial black holes for me, these Holidays always are 😂. But… WE MADE IT 😅... Another year older 😅!!! Still in my first "official" Year with MerryMorningMondayMuscleMusicMultiMaya (Jul 2025 😁). No… I didn't play. In fact, I haven't played many AVNs lately (or at least as much as I used to). I play a handful here and there, but the Android is VERY limited in choices (unless you're talking about Android Ports, but those come with mods/cheats/WT). And it does nothing for me since none of my original saves progress (besides knowing what happens). AND LAST, I WANT TO EXPERIENCE IT ALL ON THE BIG SCREEN 😅! And like I always say, "Android is nice and convenient, but it doesn't give me the same feelings as I would with my LTop 😅." There's just something off/missing... So no worries…. Take your time… I'm nowhere close 😅… Ooo… complex… I imagine it must be Rose… I can't wait for her 😈… "You have eluded me long enough, my firecracker 🧨!" 😍🥰😛🤤 Unless it's Andrea… I wouldn't mind a scene with both Lana and her 😍! That hard choices were coming was expected. MC has to face them - attempting to do so is simply wrong for him. Thanks for the path utility - it allowed folks like me, who can't seem to play season 1 and avoid the altruistic path, to have the opportunity to experience deeper relationships with Sana, Rose, and Samara. Oh, and Danielle (not convinced this one is ever worth it).

You work like a machine, which can only harm your creativity, and stress has never been good for your health. Take a break! We, your fans, understand. I don't know any other developer who works as fast as you, with such great results.
Thanks John, I like the stress, it fuels me, so we'll see what these holidays do to me! It's the first time I take that big a break in 5 years of dev, so maybe it'll be benefitial
