Law School Episode 3 - Progress update #18

Hello everyone,

Last week has been fantastic.

When I started planning Law School more than a year and a half ago, I had a bunch of events, easter eggs, and plotlines in mind. Lately, I’ve been revealing some of those secrets, creating scenes I’ve had in my head for a long time, and doing work I’m genuinely happy with. Honestly, the week flew by—I was excited and working hard the whole time.

Another great piece of news: I received a message from the animator I work with—he’s getting started on the latest scenes I sent him. That’s a huge relief, as I really didn’t want to handle those myself.

The good thing is, I can send the game for testing even if a few animations are still missing, so timing is looking alright.

Now let’s talk numbers:

📸 3,315 static story images
🎞️ 86 animations
📝 51 fully written scenes

Since last week, I’ve created 292 new renders and 4 animations. Not bad! Things are going much faster now that I don’t have to rework Episode 1 anymore.

I’m also relieved about the animation situation—I believe the animator should be able to cover all remaining lewd scenes before release. So we should stay on track with the schedule I’ve set for this episode.

Speaking of which, I think it’s about time I talk about a timeline for post-work.

I started working on Day 7 of this third episode last Sunday, and today, I’ll complete it. That’s great news—it means it took 8 days to complete. Day 8 will be similar in terms of content, so I’m accounting for another 8 days, plus one additional week for Day 9 (which is the final day of this episode).

Then I’ll need a couple of days—three at most—to rework some problematic renders: lighting issues, Sana’s skin, clipping, and the newest addition—MC’s scar. Yes, I accidentally gave my MC a facial scar (meant for another character). I’ll need to fix that..

After that, I’ll need a week to work on a special part I skipped for now. It involves a lot of animation, and I wasn’t ready to dive into it right after the trailer work. So overall, assuming there'll be a few hiccups and unforeseen hurdles, we’re looking at one month until the project moves into post-work.

My goal is to hit that mark.

For reference, the post-work + testing phase for the last episode lasted about a month. I wanted to give enough time to the testers and also had a big chunk of coding to do (Facegram was completely reworked).

This time won’t be any different. With the new phone functionalities, re-testing Episode 1 (with its updated renders and animations), and other additions, post-work will take a while—but I’m really looking forward to it. This episode is over 1.5 times bigger than the last one, so I’ll also make sure our good Wibble has enough time to catch all my typos.

So yeah—lots of good news!

I’m excited, in good health, and ready to keep going full speed.

Back to work now—wishing you all a great week!

I gotta say, I've tried a lot of avns and haven't really enjoyed many. Really enjoying this one though. Great slice of life story. Looking forward to finishing chapter 3 and beyond.
