What I'm launching on Kickstarter
This feels like sending my friends a group text while freaking out the night before a huge presentation at work. But the Kickstarter launch is tomorrow (!!!) and it's the first time I've made a real thing that people actually can buy, so plenty of reasons to freak out. And be excited.
The project will go live October 23rd, 8am Pacific Time, and I can't show you what it is until then. But I can show you what it used to be.
I don't know if any of you remember, but a while back I built a calendar to help me track how much I meditate.
The concept was pretty simple: whenever I meditate, I get to flip a switch for that day. It's a way to track my progress, but also a gold star system to keep myself motivated.
We're launching a Kickstarter campaign for a version of that tomorrow, and it's the prettiest, best thing I've ever made. I know competition isn't very fierce in that category, but still.
There will be a new video up on my channel about it too! So see you tomorrow.
Over and out,
Simone

Hello how are you
Hello
wow
I'love you so
I missed out :( I hope we're able to order one again soon :)
Yea
Woah! SO cool!
Incredible, just incredible.
i would love to see shitty robots
Pledge in! You go Simone!!!!
About that prototyping-button-thinggie: Patreon you said? ;)
$330,000 and counting! Hope you are ready to make a 1,000 of these ;-)
Cool! Just one question: what happens on a leap year? (heading to KS now :) )
I asked this out of the gate... she said to take the day off!
OMG currently at 256.000 dollars! Thats crazy! What even happens when the amount is that high??? :D
....275 tho and counting. Hope you dont get burned out again because of the crazy demand Simone (?!). I mean, if it was me I wouldnt even know what to do . :D . Of course its not just you doing this project. The calendar looks awesome btw
Your Kickstarter video is the cutest Kickstarter video in the history of Kickstarter videos. Mostly because it sounds like your shitty robot videos. You keep doing you, okay?
I know it's not all plain profit, but now I'd use some of the dream phase of your 11 hour sleeps not only for rolling your eyes, but dreaming about that house again.
Hmm.... not shitty at all.
Wow. It's beautiful. Those 100 early birds went fast. Congrats on meeting your goal (at 700% currently haha!).
love it. hoping there are a couple of free pins on the μC to play with <3's.
You launched that Kickstarter, alright. You launched the shit out of it.
I would love if you had RGB LEDs so you could click through multiple different buttons and track multiple things.
Really cool idea with the capacitive pcb buttons. My first thought looking at it. Instead of getting 2 boards made, couldn't you use reverse mount smd leds on the backside of a single panel and just route all the traces on there? Or was that more cost prohibitive than just making two pcbs? https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/sunled/XZM2MOK45WT-9/1497-1333-1-ND/6615765 Also, Will there eventually maybe be a smaller desk version that just does days in a month? I'd love one of those.
Backed! I’m going to use this to track days I’m in my shop making things. Can’t wait. Congrats and thanks for making this!
Link to HW design source?
Congrats on getting funded already!!
Pledge complete - so glad its funded
Don't see it yet either (Montreal, Canada) Tried "Simone" "meditate"

has this happened? i don't see it yet!
Buzzin!
I feel like I'm buying concert tickets as now I'll be hitting F5 just before 11 est trying to pledge asap!
lol, same!
alarm/reminder set! :D
Nice idea! I guess you give people a day off from meditating every 4 years then :)
Take my money! Please!
I like this, great for tracking exercise and taking meds (i'm bad at both)
Whoa! That's a metric s**t-ton of switches. Sorry, I don't know what the Imperial conversion for that is ;-) Can't wait for the reveal!
Awesome! I was looking up old videos with the intension of making one of these, guess now I don't have to! 👍🏼
Nope, the brain surgery has completely changed you. You're making useful robots now...
also, great pic!
i have never been more ready to get up at 7:45 to instantaneously hit the back this project button. you rule so hard. so stoked for you!
Sweet!
Its organized madness that's just begging to become a drinking game!
Neat!
Oooh this is gonna be so good! Looking forward to tomorrow 😁👏
Good luck.
I love it! I think this would be a fun way combat my ADHD fueled procrastination
I will be flying at 8AM Pacific time, save me a cool backer level!
Awesome idea!! Sign me up!
So you can kinda play plinko on it!
I ADORE IT. Here's hoping shipping to asia doesn't cost an arm and leg
Sounds really good! I will definitely support!
Love the Idea! I should get one for working out! wait... or not... aaa..
Anyone else think sim could be some kind of model, THAT SMILE THO.
This is so very awesome, can there be some kind of loud obnoxious noise at some point that is very difficult to turn off? (It's 2 am, everyone's asleep all of a sudden SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH the neighbors are knocking on your door as you try frantically to turn the thing off)
Oooh, I remember that thing, I was thinking about building one. I am very intrigued about this now!
That is cool. But does a big rubber hand come out and smack you at some point ? And if not can that at least be an add on ?
One thing is guaranteed: The rewards for the support levels will be either a good laugh or the reason to create several accounts to make all pledges. Or both.
Congrats, this is so cool. Can't wait to support!
SO SO EXCITED to contribute to this!
flip all the switches!
Så kul och grymt! Jag längtar och du äger!⚡️✨
Yeah, for sure I remember that... it was geek & cool! Can't wait to see what that initial idea turned out! Success!!
Oh, you could put several together to cover a long prison sentence.
♥️ Ahhhhhh!! ♥️ That's awesome!! I bet that was extremely helpful post-surgury! Make sure to mention the mental health benefits in the Kickstarter! It would be great for CBT/DBT and grounding excersises as well! Can't wait to check it out!
Good luck with the kickstarter! I'm sure it will do great! :)
Holy cow, this is such an amazing idea. There are so many applications for this. Just set an alarm for tomorrow so I don't miss it.
It's a lovely idea, I'll be checking this out tomorrow for sure
I'm guessing you're a much more advanced meditator than is the target, but you might still enjoy Dan Harris's "Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics". It's a hilarious read with many accompanying meditations. Can't wait to see the Kickstarter tomorrow!!
Yes!
Awesome! I'm definitely going to check it out, can't wait! I'm soo excited for you!
I need one
This is awesome! I love the tangible reward of flipping a switch! I used to use one of those baseball pitch counters to track every time I had a positive thought, but it wasn't as rewarding as that cool switchboard looks!
Get ready for being a millionaire :D
Oh... unless you already are, I guess.... you're one in a million at least - great work!
Good luck, I'm sure it'll be a winner!
So cool! I'm very interested!
Awesome. I was really hoping your Kickstarter would turn out to be something like that. I remembered that calendar thing and always thought it was very cool!
I'm sure it will be amazing!! I can't wait😀😀😀😀
That is so cool!
Awesome! Good luck with the launch! I'm sure it will be a hit! :)
I'm so hyped! I'll definitely be backing this, I'd probably use one to keep practicing guitar. Make sure I get a specific amount of time in per day.
It is tomorrow in 30 min in Sweden...
oooo this looks so cool
I’mma meditate to that
How do you deal with leap year?.... LOL
you get the day off
Eagerly awaiting!
Can't wait! This is super exciting \o/
Criminy I'm excited to see it
Good luck tomorrow, Simone! I know you're going to smash it out the park!
Awesome! Can't wait and advanced congrats!
