Trope Talk: Love Triangles
Tis the season for overwrought romantic conflicts I guess!

Sometimes you can read romance novels and realize halfway through the author clearly has not worked on their learned anti-individualistic worldview from growing up in a society that hangs your entire progression into maturity and well being onto your significant other, because they are justifying their mc putting up with a lot of bs for the sake of 'love' and being a relationship at any cost
Where do you fit the play Cyrano de Bergerac into this? B dies in such a way as to still be an obstacle to C.
My favorite love triangle is the one in the Girl Genius webcomic between Agatha, Gil, and Tarvek. Like here: https://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20120718
It works because it's not only a B-plot, but also Gil and Tarvek will also clearly stand by whatever decision Agatha makes: both, either, or neither: and there are plot things that they all agree are more important. Of course, the Foglios decided to throw in a *second* love triangle now: https://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20210310 So.
A cool detail in the Buffy Angel and Spike love triangle in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, while primarily a triangle where both vampires are primarily (with some exception) interested in Buffy, the writers did imply that Angel and Spike also have a sexual history with each other as well (they just also irritate each other to much for polyamory to work).
