Yassss!!! I loved this so much!! Also, for next year, my hubs suggested Phantom of the Opera for Halloween if you didn’t want to do Zombies or some other such monster.
Love this one. Your wolf drawings have very relatable expressions. Small note: the Beast of Gévaudan can't really have been a coyote hybrid, as coyotes only exist in the Americas. The Beast is more likely to have been wolves or wolf-dog hybrids. Though I have heard a theory that it was a subadult or female lion escaped from a local nobleman's menagerie. It was described as red or tawny in color and having a long tail with a tuft at the end. Which raises the interesting possibility of a countryside in full panic from attacks by a monster while the local noble sits on his estate sweating and hoping no one notices his lion is missing.
"Hey boss, how's the big cat?" "Oh she's... she's great. Very active but not like in the countryside haha" *glances over at lion-shaped-scarecrow with "very dangerous- do not disturb" sign taped to it.
This channel is the single one that I contribute to. It presents information I think is incredibly important in a vastly entertaining way.
Love this! Favorite video (from.... anyone?) in a long time. Only complaint was that I had to wait to minute 24 for the Underworld rep. I like my trashy-horror for Halloween. Good thesis at the end too :)
Also, thank you for cutting the twilight bit. I have PTSD from watching New Moon a couple of years ago
okay, so I really like the parts where you drop the editing a bit. like the pronunciation bit and the witch hunt hot take bit. Its like a some of the eldritch stream energy leaked through the cracks
I love the fusion of old art and manuscripts with modern pop culture. The addition of scientific and historical talking points to help ground some of the mythology is something I usually try to achieve as well. The side comments scroll as quick as the wit.
Kind of expected Hungry Like The Wolf for the ending song, but I liked what you used, what song was that?
"Bad Moon Rising", originally by Creedence Clearwater Revival.
Out of curiosity, were World of Darkness werewolves ever considered for inclusion in some draft of this video?
Loved seeing all the research Red. I had looked up some of these before but I hand not found the Irish or the Italian "warriors of god" versions. That is badass and adds to the lore. Thanks for making this video. Hoping we get a poster out of it. Love the opening image of the werewolf.
Conservation, Gaelic Myths and stories and wolves... Did you write this specifically to appeal to me? I loved this video! I think you did an incredible job tying so much together and as someone who has worked almost their entire life in conservation I think you did an amazing job of discussing the the impact human perception has on the fate of a species and on ecological restoration work. lastly a book recommendation Wolf Totem by Jiang Rong. Thanks again, truly an OSP god tier video in my books!
So, imma wager that Laighneach Faeladh is that King Lycaon on Wolf Mountain thing again cause the gaelic word for (more or less) werewolf that i've come across most os faoladh, from the gaelic 'Faol' (meaning wolf, unsurprisingly)
I was rather relieved to read in the credits that Red dropped the research after twilight. No one should be exposed to the omega verse
Be honest not mentioning a certain watch officer took serious effort didn’t it?
i wont be abale to watch this till tomorow but i am soooo exited!
Weeeeeeeee!
