I just got reminded of a couple of episodes in RWBY Vol. 7. That two part episode where the protag group finds a town and it’s too quiet. (Basically, the second part is a horror movie episode with the Apathy Grimm being equivalent to ReDeads.)
Oh man...this is both intriguing and a bit daunting when you take this kind of thing and put it to text/writing. But I won't skimp on that kinda thing, I like painting pictures in people's minds

Adventure Time’s got a lot of really good examples of environmental storytelling, to the point several people figured out the post apocalyptic nature of the world before the show revealed it!
Kinda proud of myself that I started watching before I got the Patron and YouTube notifications. This one is gonna be awesome. Red already started with an explanation of one of my favorite Fanfiction types.
