How many options should we have on our polls?

We normally have 25 options on our polls for new series, which is the maximum amount on Patreon. Is 25 good or should we have less options to choose from?

They should realise long shows with more than one episode a week otherwise it will take years to finish

Ask folks to recommend one movie or show in the comments. And if someone else already recommended the show, vote for it with a Like, and then recommend another for your one slot in. Give the comments section to a certain cutoff date, and then take the top 5 based on Number of Likes and your own Preferences as a crew. Those top five finalist suggestions each time make it to the poll. You get all the chaos and free-form recommendations from your paying Patrons so we feel like we've got a chance to drive. You're selecting from the five most popular options/personally desirable options from your own preferences, so you know there's already significant vested interest in those movies or shows. And then you open up the vote to those qualified finalists, knowing that no matter which one wins ultimately, there's strong enough crowd favor behind it that it made it to the final poll in the first place. Just my suggestion. Folks can like any number of suggestions, meaning you get a temp check. But every patreon can only make one comment with one film/show to put into the running (which isn't already present). Early voters with strong opinions make the suggestion, and later voters can see the lay of the comments section and decide whether it's even feasible for them to try and introduce a new option at that point. It will all balance out in the short term and you'll have a solid sense of how viewers should react once the final piece airs, so you don't have the dropoff you were talking about with AHS.

Do two rounds. A bigger round and then maybe pick the top 5 for a second poll. It’ll allow you to find the most popular consensus show to your audience.

you can always also do a larger poll and then do a second round poll with the top 3- 5 highest voted from the first poll.
