Hidden Gem from the Library

Sometimes you do not need a huge dungeon, a floating fortress, or an ancient machine powered by questionable magic.

Sometimes the party just needs to leave the road, push through a wall of vines, and find a half-forgotten ruin waiting in the middle of the forest.

Overgrown Ruins is one of those maps I keep coming back to because it is incredibly easy to drop into almost any campaign. It can be an abandoned shrine, the remains of an old watchtower, a ruined outpost, a hidden druidic site, or the first clue that something much bigger lies beneath the ground.

The day, night, and camp variations let you use the same location at different stages of the adventure. Maybe it starts as a quiet place to rest. Then the sun goes down, the campfire burns low, and strange lights begin moving between the trees.

You could place a sealed tomb beneath the broken stones, let bandits use the ruins as a temporary hideout, or have the party discover signs that another expedition came through here recently… and did not get very far.

The pack also includes animated and static versions, grid and gridless options, plus cinematic POV illustrations to help set the mood before the encounter begins.

You can find the full pack here:

and in the Shop:

A useful little wilderness location for when you want your players to feel like they have wandered somewhere they were not supposed to find.

Cheers!
