[Master Post] Icy River Crossing
The roar of the river drowns out your breath as shards of ice grind against one another like clashing blades. Ahead, the frozen current breaks apart into drifting floes, slick and treacherous, while a small island rises from the torrent — three ancient oaks clawing at the grey sky like silent witnesses.
Behind you, the sound comes again. Deep. Guttural. The crack of ice under massive feet. The ice trolls are close now, their howls echoing through the frozen air.
There is no time to search for a safer crossing. The ice shifts. The river surges. One wrong step could drag you beneath the freezing water… but standing still is certain death.
Hey everyone
Icy River Crossing map is out and yeah - this is probably the last winter-themed map for a while.
This one throws your party straight into a dangerous crossing of a raging, freezing, partially frozen river. The heart of the map is a small island with three ancient oak trees - and what ends up there is entirely up to you, fellow Game/Dungeon Masters. A ritual site? An ambush? Something far worse waiting beneath the ice?
The map really leans into tactical play and environmental danger: breaking ice, slippery surfaces, unstable ice floes, difficult terrain everywhere. It’s basically a skill check festival and the kind of battlefield where one clever move can completely flip the fight on its head.
Fun fact: this map was honestly inspired by a random wallpaper that popped up on my work laptop. Kind of funny how sometimes the most boring workday can spark something genuinely creative.
As usual, the release starts with downloadable file packs. I’ll be updating this post with Foundry modules over the weekend. Dedicated packs for specific tiers will, of course, show up in their own posts.
And as always, I'd like to thank you all so much for the support. <3
Cheers!

Haha, sounds deadly already 😄 I guess we’ll just have to find out the hard way.
some times there's no other way. But this can be played also in a PC's favor. They just need to be smart... ;)
Sounds so good
Yup, and imagine how many TPK's gonna be on this map! ;) (actually it's a pity it's not possible to track such statistics, lol)
