[Master Post] Cedar Hollow Inn — Animated Maps Pack is OUT!
Warm light spills from the stained-glass windows as Cedar Hollow Inn comes into view, its wooden beams creaking softly under the weight of fresh snow. Icicles hang from the eaves like crystal daggers, chiming gently in the wind, while somewhere inside you hear laughter, the clink of mugs… and music. Slow, melodic, just a little too perfect to be background noise.
As you step inside, the air is thick with warmth, pine resin, and spiced cider. Three levels rise above you in a cozy spiral of balconies and staircases, each corner hiding a shadow, a whisper, or a half-closed door. Patrons gather around glowing hearths and massive wooden tables, but their voices hush when the song changes.
On the main floor stands Maeria Carillon, a bard whose voice seems to bend the room itself. Notes shimmer like frost in the air, and with every verse you feel memories stirring that aren’t entirely your own. Some say she’s merely an exceptional performer. Others claim the inn bends to her will — doors lock when she sings the final refrain, the bridge outside collapses on command, and those who cross her leave… changed.
Is she the heart of Cedar Hollow Inn?
Its secret guardian?
Or the true power pulling travelers here on snowy nights? One thing is certain: if you want answers, you’ll have to stay for the final song —
and then, cutting through the warmth and music, her voice rises into a piercing high note:
“IT’S TIME!”
I’m really happy (and honestly a bit relieved) to finally release Cedar Hollow Inn - Animated Maps Pack.
Building this one was a serious challenge - mostly because I started it back in November, right as the end-of-year madness kicked in.
We’re talking three full levels (not counting the surrounding exterior), multiple perspective variants, and a whole set of POV illustrations. All of that adds up fast. This pack grew way bigger than initially planned, and at some point I just had to accept that Cedar Hollow Inn wanted to be… well, huge.
For Champions, the pack lands at a total of 36 animated maps - day & night versions, with grid and gridless options. On top of that, there are 8 solid POV illustrations, both static and animated, perfect for scene-setting or Theatre of the Mind moments.
This year, Santa has a soft spot for a couple of tiers in particular
Local Heroes get animated versions of the main map variant, making it perfect for cozy tavern sessions right away.
Legends receive an extra animated bridge map, tucked neatly into their Legends Vault as a little bonus surprise.
Ok, so let's break it down tier-wise:
EDIT: Foundry modules are READY and their manifests are in the tier specific posts!
As has become tradition lately, the Foundry VTT version is still the last thing left on my to-do list. But instead of holding everything back, I decided to release the finished packs today and let you start using them right away.
It’s been a wild year, and the plans for the next one are just as ambitious — but that deserves a dedicated post of its own.
For today, it’s all about Cedar Hollow Inn — an ideal map for holiday-themed sessions, winter encounters, or just a warm, story-rich tavern your party will remember long after the snow melts.
Thank you to everyone following my work, sharing it, and playing on these maps — and a huge thank-you to my Patrons for making projects like this possible.
You’re the reason this inn exists at all.
Happy Holidays!
