Development update - 18.09.2026
Hey everyone!
Another roughly 1.5 scenes are now finished animation-wise. π
I decided I'm going to try posting development updates a little more often. I know lately they've usually been coming around once a month, so let's see if I can improve that. They probably won't always be huge status updates, but I'd rather share smaller bits of progress more regularly than disappear for a month at a time.
I also read your comments under the previous post, and I wanted to touch on one thing briefly.
If I were making Race of Life without animations, I could probably release at least 2 updates a year at this point. But as many of you pointed out yourselves, animations are a huge part of games like this, even when they're not perfect. And honestly, I can't imagine the racing scenes without them at all - without animation, a big part of the whole concept of this game would lose its purpose. π
It's also the area where I feel I still have the most room to grow. With static renders, especially in Daz3D, you eventually reach a point where improvements become smaller and smaller unless you spend an enormous amount of extra time polishing every single image. That's something I still enjoy doing from time to time, but for the main game I'd rather put that extra time into animations, the story, scene logic, and making everything feel more alive.
I know that roughly one major update per around 9-12 months can feel like a long wait for some of you, and I completely understand that. At the same time, it's worth remembering that there isn't a large development team on the other side of the screen. We're a very small project, without a huge studio budget or dozens of people working on separate parts of the game.
I spend the majority of my time on Race of Life, but there are still limits I simply can't brute-force through without cutting corners somewhere. And I don't really want to do that.
I could make the updates smaller, reduce the number of renders, cut animations, simplify scenes or stop experimenting with new things - and development would definitely move faster. But I genuinely think the game would lose one of its strongest qualities in the process.
The funny part is that every time I find a way to speed something up, I usually discover another thing I want to improve. π Moving animation work from Daz3D to Blender is probably the best example. It slowed me down while learning it, but it also opened up possibilities I simply didn't have before. The same goes for adding proper sound to animations and improving the way scenes are presented.
So I guess that's just how this project keeps evolving.
And you are very much part of that journey with us. Your support is the reason we can keep working on it this way, experimenting, improving things and trying to make each episode better than the last. I really do appreciate that.
And the good news is that I'm slowly getting closer to the end of the animation-heavy part of development, which makes me very happy.
Also, if you have any questions for us, feel free to drop them below! The only exception is the release date.π
My answer there has always been the same: when we're close enough to the finish line to give you a date we genuinely believe in, we'll give you one.
I really don't like announcing dates far in advance and then having to explain why something unexpected pushed them back. I'm a player too, and I know exactly how disappointing it feels when you're waiting for something and the date keeps moving. I'd much rather announce it later and be confident we can actually deliver.
I also want to do another big numbers/statistics update soon. Ideally I'd like to wait until all the animations are finished so I can give you the complete picture, but we'll see!
See you in October!

I hope there would be some Camille scenes in the upcoming updates
I can't wait to see Camille; I'm already sorry about the betrayal, my friend π€
Good stuff
The animations are awesome, but the sex animations are a little too fast for my liking. Am I the only one who thinks that?
Love your work everybody (well myself included) understand that it is a long process (I quit a few years back but I used to make books in episode community on mobile and omg every detail took forever)ππ₯
Just keep doing your thing your way ! We love it!
Hey, how do you make games? If it's not a secret, what programs do you use? I'd like to try getting started myself.
There's no single right answer to this, as you can make these kinds of games in several different ways. Personally, I use DAZ Studio for renders, Blender for animations (although I only switched to Blender fairly recently, as I used to make animations in DAZ too), and Ren'Py for programming. There are tons of tutorials online to help you get started. In my opinion, DAZ Studio is very beginner-friendly. When I first started, I had absolutely no background or education in any of this, and DAZ was the easiest for me to pick up. You can start seeing results pretty quickly, which is really motivating, although it doesn't give you as much freedom as something like Blender. It was pretty much the same with Ren'Py. I simply chose it because it seemed like the easiest option at the time. But of course, that's just the path I took, not the only way to do it. Good luck if you decide to give it a try!
Just got the season 1 on steam few days back and it felt top notch and especially the racing animations so as long as it takes for animations I am ready
Will we receive the next update before GTA VI?
Thanks for keeping up the good work! Alison faithfully waited, and so will I.
We understand. The animations take more time, but in a racing AVN like this, lack of that would kind of make it dull. Like cars that do not move? lol. I personally do see the long dev cycle but the quality is worth it and this is great quality you are doing.
I love race of life the way it is, the animations are amazing π€© , and the car is fucking awesome
I mean of course I wished the updates came out sooner. However the quality of the game is the factor that makes it so enjoyable. Take your time, I will be there and many others since the game is easily the top AVN. My personal favourite of course. Keep it up!
...Imagine Jasmine without animations!... π¨
Sorryβ¦ I tried but almost had a strokeβ¦ I canβt do it
It's already one of the best looking AVNs out there and with your learnings I am 100% sure the next update will be another big improvement!
GOOD FRIDAY AFTERNOON π₯, JACHU & JOSHUA, AND EVERYONE!!! BIG MAG π₯°π!!! Awesome! As for the updates, I don't mind as long as you keep us posted once in a while π. And no ghosting π π»ββοΈ. Racing animations? Oh for sure... WITHOUT A DOUBT! Lewd animations? I know a game without animations, and it's doing alright. (JDOR's Origin Story). Animations are a BIG PART OF ROL with the cars π . I think the racing looks great. But then again, I am uneducated and not good at tech, so.... π€£. Oh, yeah... no worries. We know there's only you and Joshua working on the game, and that you both work VERY hard π . "Don't change anything π π»ββοΈ." That's normal. We're all always learning and trying to improve ourselves π . Awesome progress ππ»! You know me... I will never ask for the release date. Nothing but stress for our Devs π€£. Can't wait for those numbers/statistics π! Awwww... so we're just not going to get anything from Joshua, huh π€£? As always, thanks for the Update, Jachu & Joshua! Both you and Joshua keep on keeping on π!!! ALWAYS EXCITED AND EAGERLY WAITING FOR YOUR GAME AND POSTS ππ»π₯!!! Love and appreciate everything! Both of you β€οΈ, your ladies π, your posts π₯°, your renders π, and your games β€οΈ! Always make my days better π! Thank you, Double J (Jachu/Joshua) & Racers (I'm thinking of a fan name), for being in my life and being a part of my weekly routine π! Stay safe, stay blessed, and stay in PERFECT health, beautiful people! And don't forget to stay hydrated! And you're never alone β€οΈπ«Άπ»π«°π»!!! OUR AVNS AND OUR DEVS CONNECT US ALL π€!!! Have an amazing and beautiful week! I'll catch you allβON THE NEXT ONEβπ»π!!!
If you're going to post dev updates more often, I guess that means you'll be doing a lot more typing π Your updates are always so detailed, and I genuinely enjoy reading them. It's always interesting to hear more about the development process π
I'll happily enjoy bi-monthly check-ins if you want to change it up! I already said my piece in the original discussion regarding animation so I'll just add that when you're producing animations many consider the Gold standard for the genre (at least for Daz games) you should keep leading the pack. I'm perfectly fine with waiting for quality, and if you think you can keep the cycle at 9-12 months you're still ahead of many of the top devs.
So when is it coming out? Lol, just kidding. Thanks for the update and keep up the good work, looking forward to it. π
The animations are the best part of this game. Makes me want to drive my little Honda and go crazy on the road lmao.
