Some *real* behind-the-scenes

Alright, so a lot of y'all responded to my last message with something along the lines of:

"It's ok, just charge for next month, my name being in the end-credits isn't a big deal to me"

I appreciate that, but I'm sticking to it.  Your name should be in the end-credits of the next video, though.

HOWEVER, that next video will be delayed.  This isn't an apology or anything, it's out of my control and is fine, but I figured I should give a peak behind the curtains.

This shift to live-action has been difficult for many reasons, but I'd say audio is the biggest of them.  When I didn't have to deal with actually recording, I could just stick a $70 mic in front of my face, and it would sound good.  However, I wanted a mic to not be in the shot once I switched to live-action.  This resulted in me buying a boom mic which picks up a *ton* of ambient noise.

This doesn't work.  My apartment is in far too noisy of a neighborhood, and recording at 3 or 4 AM doesn't fix the issue.  Just air conditioners in the background add so much noise, even though I turn my own, personal, AC units off.  Also, the crowing of the roosters my neighbor owns adds a ton of noise, and I'm *pretty* sure he's running a cock-fighting ring.

I used to just remove the background noise, there's a simple solution for that in Audacity (my sound editing software) but it removes what little bass there is in my voice, and it makes me sound like I'm speaking through a tin can.  This worked great when I was in the dorms, there was minimal background noise, and the mic was right up against my mouth...

but that is no longer the case.

Anyway, I ordered a nice mic for recording right in front of my face, but I'm currently waiting on a stereo-1/4 inch-cable-to-3.5 mm-cable-from Amazon.  I won't get into it, but I have no desire to deal with further audio issues because this next video is very important to me, and I think will be great.

Change is good, and I don't regret the one I've made...but I want to hit my stride again.
