April News & Previews #1

As of today, our shipping partner Miniature Market has started shipping our first boxes for Broken Truth in the United States.

Our goal is to ship most of the ready orders by the end of the week. You will receive a notification on the email you indicated in the Pledge Manager as your package gets sent out, so look out and check your spam folder!

On the last week of every month, we鈥檙e running an OPR Hangout stream over on YouTube, where we showcase upcoming releases, sneak peeks at future content, and have a Q&A session for you to get involved. This is a relaxed stream, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at our creation process whilst chatting a bit and having some fun.

If you missed out, check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvTdyDhi-jg

The next stream is going to be on March 26th at 19:00 GMT / 15:00 EST / 12:00 PST.

At the top of post, you'll see some early previews of the what we are working on for May!

Iron Orc Warriors are the mainstay of the Orcs forces. They can take a variety of weapons like Dual Hand Weapons, Halberds, and Spears. They can also carry Shields, though Orcs like to play at defense by adding more injury, so instead of boosting their own defensive power, they become harder to hit instead as enemies try to fight around their large scary shields without hurting themselves on them. And with Ferocious, when they strike back, any 6's equal extra hits!

Please remember that these are early WIP shots of the models and not the final versions of the models.

That's it for now, happy wargaming!

I really like the orc designs. I'll probably be using the bald head option, but I think the hair options shown all fit very well. The armour and weapons also hit a nice midpoint where they look a bit ramshackle but still sturdy. As for the Battle Brothers, I'll paste my comments from the stream: Overall I like the look of the Battle Brothers. They look like good, solid, human power armour troopers. I'm a huge supporter of modularity in minis, and being able to swap the shoulderpads and helmets is an awesome step in that direction. As for suggestions, I think looking at the power armours from Anthem, Starcraft 2, and Halo could give some ideas for helmet designs. I like the idea behind the eyeports but having them attached to what looks like a metal plate instead of recessed into the helmet make them look kind of like he's wearing goggles, which I don't think is a good look. Similarly, I like the idea of having a clear mouthpiece but think it protrudes out too far, giving sort of a snout look. If at all possible, I think making the heads fully modular, where the whole helmet detaches from the neck, would be amazing. It would allow for more flexibility when making different heads for different types of Battle Brother, and would also make it easier for people to kitbash their own armies by replacing heads entirely with other types. I like the idea of the gun, but I think the large studs and charging handle make it look too primitive, like just a big version of a modern rifle. I'd prefer to see something like the HDF weapons, where they look like an evolution of modern weapons instead of just a slightly different version. Maybe consider looking at larger weapons like .50 machine guns and Squad Automatic Weapons for design cues, as these are supposed to be high caliber weapons. Overall, I think they are a big step in the right direction, and I am interested to see how the backpacks change the silhouette.

Same like Dreadknot I absolutely love the Orcs just have ton of them from different other systems. And also, would like to see other less prevalent races. But hey there are people who are just starting...

I Love the Design of then orcs. Amazing :) the design of then Battle Brothers is basically very good to, they need to Look little less Like HDF. First i thougt this could be the armoured Variant of the Warriors 馃

Really love the Fantasy Orcs! Only problem is I already have a ton of them. Can't wait to see the other Fantasy races you folks will be putting out.

Loves the orc. Also adding to the comment about Battle brothers, and I agree with other comments they look way too similar to HDF armies and they can be easily confused as the same army. They need to look different enough so they can be recognized as their own force.

For the Battle Brothers, I need to follow on with some of the rest of the comments. They need to look like they don't belong in a HDF army. If I can confuse the two, they'll just blend and merge as army's and be a lot harder to find unique aesthetics.

I love the Orcs. I hope there are some showing more skin (Must use all my greens!), but I really like the vibe. Doesn't feel like green humans.

I think you nailed the orcs. I like the battle brother concept, too. I like that it doesn鈥檛 have a big backpack, I like that it鈥檚 not in robes, and I like that it doesn鈥檛 look like a GW model.

I love the fantasy orcs. For the Battle Brothers, I think the challenge is that they look more like the HDF Storm Troopers or Infantry Squad than their own units. They need to be significantly more silly. Instead of the HDF-style US military look, what if they looked more like Soviet cosmonaut suits or fantasy knights?

I think there are some scale issues with the Orc Marauders that OPR could get away with because Orcs are not humans, but they definitely look like they're designed at a smaller scale than (for example) the Goblin Reclaimers or Dwarf Guilds. The bigger you can make the heads and limbs of the Battle Brothers, the more you can separate them from the more armored HDF units.

Honestly am with Kean on this I think they need to be a bit bulkier and maybe a bit more of a style difference

The battle brothers preview kind of just seems like a HDF thing. I would hope they'd be a bit bulkier or stand out a bit more in comparison to the HDF minis.

I love the bearded orcs!
