October News & Previews #3
There is currently a little more than one week left on our Gamefound Campaign: Broken Truth. We've hit some awesome funding milestones thanks to everyone's help. In the latest update we show off something that you usually only get to see way after a campaign is over, but we got some advanced copies of the prototype boxes so we can show off what it looks like and some of the things you get inside.
We’re happy to announce that One Page Rules will be at Spiel Essen 2025 from October 23rd to the 26th at the Fair Grounds of Messe Essen in Germany. You’ll get to meet some of the OPR team, see many of our painted miniatures, and grab some physical products for sale. We’ll also be showing off how Wargaming can be Simple and Fun.
Visit our Booth in Hall 1. We've partnered Titan Forge for this event so there will be plenty to do with both of us! You can find us at Booth #1B311
Play OPR Game Demos! -We will be running demos for our games at the booth throughout the convention. If you've never played one of our games before, this is the perfect chance to try it!
Minis For Sale - We'll also have some of our King's Wrath and Last Stand Starter Box sets for sale at the convention. Stop by the booth early to get one as supplies may be limited!
At the top of post, you'll see some early previews of the what we are working on for November!
The Dwarves Beast-Construct Riders are a cavalry unit with lots of automata flavor. The main thing that's important about them isn't what they have, but what they don't, as without the Slow rule these contraptions actually move faster than most other Dwarves. Everything else you'd expect to see on cavalry is there too like Impact, Tough, and Command Options, but they also get a rune option that helps level the playing field a bit by slowing enemy units down.
Please remember that these are early WIP shots of the models and not the final versions of the models.
That's it for now, happy wargaming!

Not too fond of these tbh, they look very odd and impractical for battle
These are some of my favorite dwarf models. They have a nice amount of quirk that naturally makes me start thinking of the story and world around them.
Going to chime in with the rest. Do NOT like the look of those. IT just looks Off. not sure what it is but nothing about them look right. The odd legs and weird back half the dwarf sticking so far out of the top like a centaur. Yeah this is just not right. I would go back to the drawing board on these that is for sure.
I think they look great, are we not getting any goblins?
Do not worry! There will indeed be more goblins! The dwarves were just further along in sculpting for us to show off.
Like the overall effort. But to me it looked like they are sitting backwards in the ride. Mechanical steam breathing ram, bull and goat heads.
yeah I'm sorry, I really hope these get reworked :S at the very least, the barrels at the back need to be FAR bigger. they just look silly and frankly a little stupid. If they were made that small to fit in the ball thing, just take that out, its not needed in every single piece, and to be brutally honest, its been overused already. make it a big keg, or just go back to the drawing board with the back half 😓
could be reañy nice to have metal ram heads or bull heads or even mole heads the models looks alright but fell like misisng someting
I've got to agree with the general sentiment, these don't do it for me at all. The way the dwarves just stick out, the odd general form, the headless design... to be honest the entire "Steam" line of the dwarves is not my cup of tea, I already disliked the Steamsuits with their detail-less wobbly legs and toaster heads, but these feel worse, sorry to say.
I am the same way. I think the models are great, but its not style either. I would like more classical fantasy trope filled dwarves. I get the love for steam punk, but its just not for me.
Yeah, I have to say I agree with the others. I don't like the lack of heads on the construct, or the back part being made of wood, or the elbow joints in the front legs, or the feet, or the holes in the sergeant's helmet, or even the centaur cockpit. It just looks confused.
That being said, the centaur thing is an interesting concept, so maybe a new design would help it grow on me. The barrels are also fine, as is the design of the Riders themselves. They look geared up for mountaineering, so maybe have the construction resemble a really muscular ram or goat? That would look sick.
I really like the beast-constructs. They fit the subtle weirdness of your dwarves.
These mount definitely feels... something.. very different from what I was expecting. I don't know if they feel beasty enough for me to be a beast construct. Feels like a headless gorilla.
They look really weird, not dwarf-related, kind of creepy also
If these are release as-is I'd have to cut off the front arm and replace them with wheels. Right now, they look creepy...in a way dwarves should not.
huh, centaur battle armor. That's a neat idea, wonder why I haven't seen that explored more. I kinda like it in a campy World of Warcraft kinda way.
I think these would look way better if they were just automations without dwarf riders. The coal beast side of this line looks fantastic. More mining aesthetics IMO.
[visible confusion]
The beasts are, I don't know, just not right. They seem stuck in between somehow, neither creature or machine, and the poses are clumsy.
I share the opinion of the ther poster. They look kinda bad, honestly. Like riding a mix of mole and barrel. The riders look fine, though !
I try to be as positive as possible, but those mounts……they’re definitely something. As much as i love the rest of the dwarves, i wouldn’t waste my resin to print these guys up. The mounts look like weird gorillas, and with the rider it looks like a gorilla centaur. I really do not like them.
They feel... odd. Dull? I'm sure that's some posing. I was hoping for more of the goal beasts in style or something with animal like features. I'm not sure there's anything that would make me like these enough as they are. The nipple heads just don't do it for me.
Yeesh, these look...not the best imo
The stubby little "tips".... I don't know. Not my favourite.
Oh, so they won't be Mecha Goats :(
