June Preview & Roadmap

June will be the first month for the Age of Fantasy Dwarves. The Champion will be their more martial hero for the month, while the Rune Lord takes care of magical needs. The Dwarf Warriors are the mainstay of the force, sturdy in the face of threats to their home. The Marksmen showcase the skill of dwarf engineers to make deadly devices as they hold rifles and pistols, but sometimes keep vigil with crossbow too. The Flame Cannon is just one of many artillery in the dwarf arsenal of tinkered tools of warfare, but it is probably the most flashy as it sends out gouts of flame like from the mouth of a dragon itself. The Orc Marauders this month are showing off their skills with technology as well with the Customizer and Mechanic heroes, their knowledge of tech helping to augment the gear of their battlefield family. The Specialists and Veteran Specialists making great use of all the special weapons designed by orc engineers, bringing what they need to win any firefight. The Trike is a larger version of a bike that can hold an extra rider, which means it can also take a much heavier gun. And the Assault buggy is bigger still, a more stable off road vehicle on four wheels that billows smoke, revs loudly and fills the air with gunfire for a cacophony of orc road rage.

Please remember that these are early WIP shots of the models and not the final versions of the models.

The Dwarves march from the their mountain mines in June. The Dwarf Champion is giving the marching orders, clad in heavy armor and wielding impressively large weapons. Their shields making them an immovable object while also being a nice place to store their next celebratory ale. The Rune Lords are masters of writing who manifest dwarven scriptures into powerful spells. When etched, each Rune can bolster their kinsmen or spell the end for enemies. The Dwarf Warriors are the protectors of the mines, stout fighters who always protect themselves and others behind sturdy shields while being skilled with their well crafted arms. Dwarven Marksmen are skilled hunters and shooters whose small form gives them a steady shot. Using rifles, crossbows or even dueling pistols, anyone on the other end of their sights is gone in a flash. Just because the Dwarves are smaller than some of the other races of Tyria doesn't mean they can't make up for it in large ways like with their war machines, the Cannon maybe the most simple of them, but still the one that packs the most bang.

June's Orc Marauders are the more crafty members of the tribes. The Orc Customizer is a tinkerer, creating contraptions that help their units move up the battlefield uninjured. Orc Specialists have a tool kit of weapons to choose from that can be used up close and personal like flamers and exploding spears, but also long range weapons such as rocket launchers or railguns for when the explosions need to happen a bit further away. The Orc Veteran Specialist upgrade their guns considerably to heavier versions. They may still be just as reckless with their shots as most orcs, but when the bullets are bigger, they do more damage, and that's what important to them. Roads belong to the Orcs, which is why the only thing better than a bike to them is a bigger bike. The Trike ads an extra wheel and an extra seat so that more of their friends can join in on the road trip, seeing the sights and unloading shells from a variety of heavy weapons. The Orc Assault Buggy goes off off road, kicking up dirt as it speeds around with it's more stable four wheels. It's arsenal extremely customizable for it's riders so they can bring the weapons they like the feel of most.

For Age of Fantasy: Quest the Shadow Stalkers Druid will join the adventure in June. Residing under the safety of the tree's shadows, the Shadow Stalkers Druid has become more one with the nature that now surrounds it. Learning the magics of the leaves, it can use the power of the forest to help heal his party, or wound enemies that may threaten its adopted home.

In Grimdark Future: Star Quest for June, the High Elf Fleets Instigator is keen to share her knowledge in ways that bolster and aid her squad. As a motivator she can help her fellow operatives stay in the fight by reducing their stress or helping them shrug off a hit that isn't actually as bad as they think it is. She's an inspiring fighter who makes everyone around her just that little bit better.

In June, find refuge from the sun with the Desert Platforms Terrain. This terrain pack is designed to add some height to battles among the sands. Stack up the buildings to create complex structures for skilled shooters to aim from or parkour to new levels with more acrobatic foot soldiers. The ground floor is still a great place to duck for cover for anyone who doesn't need to be up high.

I love Dawis but i dont like these Dwarfs, the helmets look silly, the armor isnt majestic at all and the axes look like the roofpiece of a lego building. And the worst are the shields. I love opr and i love theyr minis so faar and i was super hyped as i heard they do dwarfs but now im just disappointed.

Stuart Jones · June 3, 2025

I generally agree, but I also appreciate their attempts to make their minis a bit more unique, and I'd say they're okay for what they are. I'll probably need to see their releases for the next few months and see how they shape out.

Separate shields work better, so we can print them in clear to make them appear like energy of some sort... using a transparent wash like Tamiya clear blue

A
Aaron Mayer · May 29, 2025

It would be super-awesome if the Dwarf shields were attached separate so we can customize our army a little more!

C
Charles Waggoner · May 28, 2025

Are the orc/vampire heads swappable... will gw heads fit?? Buggies look cool...

D
Dave Harfield · May 28, 2025

The cloak on the Dwarf leader looks ever so flat and stiff - is this an oversight or by design?

J
John Roberts · May 28, 2025

I'm pretty sure that's only a T-pose, and the finished model will be a lot more dynamic. Same with the Rune Lord.

Luke Martin · May 28, 2025

What a release !

J
John Roberts · May 28, 2025

I agree. I wasn't a huge fan of the HDF, and I was really concerned when I saw the early images of the orcs. But they've responded really well to the feedback from the community, and these new models are amazing.

Ork Trike or buggy look great. I’ve been waiting to add one of these to my army. Thanks.

PPPP. IYKYK.

Forrest Wentworth · May 28, 2025

My only criticism: I think it would look better if the dwarves were holding the axes (not the halberds) more appropriately. They should be holding the axes further down the haft. As it stands, they're choked so far up the axes that they have minimum leverage when they swing them in combat.

L
Luke Martin · May 28, 2025

True if they were attacking. But while moving or idling they might want to change their grip to reduce the stress on their wrist ? It's more balanced this way.

K Geo111 · May 27, 2025

The Dwarves in image 6 look they are wearing diapers. Everything else looks amazing

D
Duncan Owensboggs · May 27, 2025

those orc buggies are awesome!

B
Blaqloq · May 27, 2025

The shields are a disappointment on otherwise gorgeous dwarf models.

R
Richard Pittaway · May 27, 2025

They make sense with the lore though as the orks used most of the ore, so they need to use banded wood

M

The Dwarves’ thematic are spot on, really like those! The candles are also a very neat detail in the leader

D
Daniel Poulsen · May 27, 2025

I really hope you make a dwarf steam tank! I'd love to have such a model!

L
Lukas Eisenring · May 27, 2025

Orcs are sweet! 💚

K
Kean Romanelli · May 27, 2025

Any word on what the legendary model of the month will be?

t
twitch049 · May 27, 2025

The legendary model is the Elemental Oracle, right?

A
Alexandre Baraldi · May 27, 2025

So the dwarves are going for a steampunk vibe? At least the gun-wielding dwarves

A
Andrew Lipari · May 27, 2025

Yea thats what it looks like. Not a big fan of the goofy big cannons they are carrying myself. But not as bad as original orc raider concept or the pirate one

J
James DiMatteo · May 27, 2025

Any word on the may starhost t rex?

J
Joshua S · May 27, 2025

Second! Thats the model I joined this tier for!
