April Previews + Roadmap

In April the drums beat and the rhythm of combat rises from the branches of the Heartwood as the Wood Elves War Dancers take the stage. Graceful movement flow from behind deadly weapons, striking from land and the sky with the War Gliders. Joining them on the decent are the Owl Riders taking a more direct approach to striking from the tree tops. And leading them from high up is the Champion on Forest Dragon. Also in April, The Orc Marauders start their engines and roll into battle with their Bikers and Truck, with a payload full of Orc Warriors, when the back hatch flings open, the fun begins and the battle cries of the orcs add to cacophony of roaring engines and booming bullets.

Please remember that these are early WIP shots of the models and not the final versions of the models.

In April, Wood Elves culture collides between beauty and danger with the War Dancers. Fluid graceful movements allow them to dodge through arrows and melee with ease, while their sharp blades shift from one side to the other based on the condition of the combat. The Dance Master overseeing the party and directing the choreography of the deadly war dancer art. The War Gliders bring their dance to the sky. With feathered wings and swift speed they fly up and descend upon their unwitting dancing partners with claw like blades. The Owl Rider Champion and Owl Riders are the ever watchful defenders of the canopy. Swiftly they dive upon enemies with lances or take out their marks from the sky with bow, either way they're never heard coming. The Champion on Forest Dragon is the penultimate general, able to follow the flow of battle from the sky and inserting themselves in the outcome of certain battles, usually to the favor of the Wood Elves.

While the Orc Marauders are getting their refresh we've got the concept art to share, but keep in mind that there will be many changes between the concept art and the final product that you'll get in the April Rewards. In April the Orc Marauders rile up their clan in a time of constant war. The Orc Marauder Leader is the is the experienced veteran other clan orcs look up to in moments of battle, their strength developed through years of continuous fighting against clan members and outsiders alike. The Orc Shaman is a psychic who distributes the foundations of orc warfare through magical means, helping units move among the battle or using deadly casts to clear paths for more vicious clan orcs. The Orc Warriors are the bulk of orc forces. All orcs are trained to fight from youth and the orc warriors show just what that kind of regimen can produce. They might not be the best of shots, but there's rarely a melee in which the orcs don't come out on top. The Orc Bikers and Biker Leader are the impatient type of orc that loves to hold down the trigger as they ride strait towards their enemies. A loud cloud of bullets, dust, and fumes they're every basis for every orc stereotype in Sirius. The Orc Marauders Truck is the workhorse vehicle of the orcs. Used for transport, demolition, or gunning, it's customized by every orc unit to suit their needs and style of warfare.

The Saurian Starhost get some reinforcements in April with the Dread Tyrannosaur. This massive dinosaur comes fitted with heavy saurian made guns for dino and crew alike. It's back is the perfect platform for Gecko cohorts to survey the battle from above and fire their own pintle mounted guns at enemies below.

For Age of Fantasy: Quest the Ratmen Bard will rile the spirits of his fellow heroes with mirth and song. This magical minstrel can Inspire his comrades to greater feats of battle, or heal them with a soothing melody. His allies will never be without options as their vitality keeps pace with the Bard's instrument.

In April, Grimdark Future: Star Quest get a human hero with the HDF Berserker. Every mission needs it's distractors, and there's nothing more distracting than an angry axe wielding maniac. The HDF Berserker is quite direct when it comes team tactics. Find the enemy, get mad, and attack. While a simple solution, it's one that can be quite effective at allowing her team to get their jobs done when they've lost the element of surprise.

In April, The Desert Terrain levels up in scale once more with the Desert Large Terrain. This terrain pack is designed to take up large areas that models fully hide behind, blocking line of sight to everything but the largest of models.

For our 2D releases, you'll see the Shadow Stalkers - Set #2 and the Dwarf Guilds - Set #2, plus Paper Terrain sets. The 2D models are a great way to prepare armies for games quickly!

You'll also get 8 Short Stories with Missions and early access to the Heart of the Rot campaign for Age of Fantasy: Quest as well as early access to the Escaping New Orzuk campaign for Grimdark Future: Star Quest

I know it’s a bit old now but any thoughts about making a bone dragon for the mummified undead collection?

Miles Mull · March 31, 2025

I am very happy with that the Orc concept that was here for March is out. The main issue with it was the neck that took it from looking like an Orc to looking like a Goblin. The new concept sketches are much much improved!

Is there a list of the short stories and missions, I want to make sure I have downloaded all of the previous ones I have had

O
One Page Rules · April 1, 2025

Not yet, but keeping one is a good idea. There are several places with most of them, though, like on the Short Stories section on the website that keeps all but the newest ones.

Not that wowed yet by the orcs. I do love you’ve chosen a more classic dnd style orc of old for build and face, my preference was the 80’s/90’s style orcs hence why I Sub to Trollet for those. So I do like the orc infantry style… but human bikes? Human style trucks. Don’t get caught in all races are the same. I feel for a completely different race they should have their own remarkable style of war machines unique in appearance and this is lost here with what looks to me more like HDF, Dwarf Guilds and other human style races.

Kind of sad we get a griffon-sized dragon. The Human Empire dragon was the perfect size.
