Snowiii95's Retirement and Goodbye Letter
If you haven't heard, the modder/trait creator Snowiii95 has retired from creating. They will no longer be updating their mods either. They took down their Patreon and Tumblr, which means no one has access to their stuff anymore. I was debating on 1) asking for folks to send me their mods if they have them so I can update them and 2) updating and sharing them for those that want them.
I feel like it is sucky when creators do the quit and delete thing, but I myself have thought of doing it before due to being disabled too. However I hate leaving people hanging like that and I haven't done it. (I probably won't either tbh. Just that I can relate to Snowiii95.)
I used to use their content but sometimes it was buggy, so stopped at one point, especially since they weren't consistent with fixing their stuff. I used to have a backup of it but I no longer do. So I would have to turn to my followers to see if anyone has their stuff before I could even update anything.
Anyways, the poll here is, should I bother asking for Snowiii95's mods/traits and update them? Also feel free to leave a comment as well to elaborate on your response if you'd like to.

I had the teen lifestyle mod but ive lost it. Does anyone have it? If so is there any way you could share it with me?

Hi, Would you possibly adopt the Sim Control Hub mod by DQuit? That would be really great, both modders who created Sim Control mods are unfortunately no longer active. :(
The script works fine, no need to update if everything is working properly. I'm using it and everything is fine. Wait until the mod is in jeopardy and see if they fix it; they usually do. No one said they were stopping modding.
Could u please adopt DISL (Down in simland) mods? I really love them and he seems to quit modding :(
I was looking through their stuff because I use them too and thought about messaging them and asking but haven’t yet. I will try to later though!
Thinking of Snowii. :( I would love to see these traits live on, but honestly, I wish the modding community would first revive and maintain Paulson's NPCC mod. That mod was so critical to functionality rather than features. I've been trying to piece together random bits of it since, but nothing ever comes close to fixing that.

If she will let you, then please do. I think I've used a few of her things but like someone else said that there needs to be a place for the retired modders things. If they need to leave due to illness, that's totally understandable. My "pet peeve" is that they leave because they no longer want to do it and leave everything behind a PAY WALL still expecting $$$$ for it. If you retire, I've always thought you should drop the $$$$ request and make it free. There are folks (like me) who can't afford it. I'm an unpaid caretaker for my elderly mom and this game is my escape from taking care of her.
Addition: Not all do leave their stuff behind paywalls but there are some that do...just wanted to clarify that part of my post before I get any angry replies...
A modder leaving is always sad news, i wish them the best in their future From what info i could gather, they mostly did traits. And it seems they match with traits from many other modders. Ofc, do what your heart tells you, but i voted for second option "no, ..."

Yeah, I do think it's really crappy when modders do the quit and delete thing. If you want to quit, by all means, but leave your custom content for people to enjoy and offer up your mods for other creators to update. It's kinda shitty, especially if people paid for them. Because now, they're not getting the product they paid for for however long. I didn't use their mods, myself, but I say see if you can get them for others.
you know the mods from scumbumbo(yes i know he passed away,something different but still) are still updated every time so why not updating from other modders who have to retire because they are ill or getting physique problems ,if a modder just retire because he feels like it i don`t care if somebody takes his mods over.
Websites need an orphan option for mods/cc like AO3! I think reaching out to them and the community is really cool, good luck! 🍀

oh i adored her traits especially please do! toddler and infant traits are rarer than a lot of people think so i def would not mind you taking over if its not more trouble for you!
I never used any of her traits, but having a quick look on scarlets list there are other modders who already make similar traits/careers, so I guess its up to you. Sad that she just took everything down though :(
